I worked with Viva Bella Salon for my wedding in July. I and two of the ladies in my wedding party had our hair curled. I appreciated that the stylists took their time, doing a nice and thorough job. For any brides, especially with a large wedding party, I would just encourage you to give yourselves extra time, as there may not be many stylists working.

I’ve been to Viva Bella twice so far, and have had an amazing experience both times! The first time I went Kyra cut my hair. I had long hair, and it was the first time I’d gotten it cut down to below my ears. Kyra did a great job cutting, styling, and explaining what she was doing and what that would look like with my hair. I loved the results! The second time was with Meagan, and she did an amazing job! I decided to get almost all of it cut off this time. She was very friendly, listened to what I wanted, and followed through in giving me a haircut that I l love! With such a big change in hairstyle for me, it did make me nervous, and I had to sit with it a bit, but overall I’m very happy with how it turned out

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ValueSTAY AWAY!A first time customer. Extremely unhappy with the coloring service. I booked an appointment with Stacy, who is listed as a MASTER STYLIST and EDUCATOR !!!!!, on Viva Bella Website.I had previously colored my hair professionally at a salon before, and my natural hair had grown (two pictures with full face). So I wanted to have a uniform color all over, and a little bit darker than my ends. I explicitly said I do not want any red tone in my hair. What I got is the last 3 pictures. multiple colors that do not match. The top part of my hair is brown with a red tone, the middle part is cool brown and the ends are blond!I went for a correction two days after, Stacy put a toner on my hair (so the second time my hair is exposed to chemicals), and still a very poor result. A one inch trim and this coloring cost me 195$.My suggestion for the owner of Viva Bella:Do not list someone’s name as a master stylist and educator if they even do not know the basics of coloring.I wasted 5 hours of my precious time, exposed my hair to chemicals two times, was charged for the MAXIMUM price for hair cut (63$), although mine was only a one inch trim, and 20$ for a simple blow dry which usually is free when you do a haircut and hair color.PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!Positive points of this salon:Located in downtown. DO NOT GO HERE!! I paid a hair stylist here named Laura to color my hair. The outcome was the complete opposite of what I asked for. She charged me, and told me to come in a week later to try and fix it. I came back the following week and she did an even more awful job. I wasted my time and money with Laura. She damaged and killed my hair. NEVER AGAIN.

On November 22, I scheduled an appointment for hair and make-up to have a professional headshot done. The person I spoke with said she put me in for a two and a half hour block on January 5. I showed up at the scheduled time and they didn’t have anything showing an appointment for me. I even showed them in my call history the date and time I called to schedule the appointment. I spoke with the owner who said she would look into it and call me back. Never heard anything back from anyone.

I wish I could post the pictures of the aftermath. My hair grows fast so it’ll be fine in about 3-4 weeks. I paid $40 for the cut plus a $10 tip…they should’ve paid me! What a total rip off! I spoke to my hairdresser at home (I was visiting State College) who offered to fix it…I told there isn’t enough hair to fix! The girl obviously had no idea what she’s doing…she’s giving Viva Bella a bad name. Don’t go to this girl. I wanted to do a major change for my hair, from mid-length to pixie and I was super happy with the result. Kyra is a great stylist, and she listened to all of my input which made me a lot less nervous about the change! Haircut
