I have known Venus for almost a year and she has done an amazing job every time I went to her for my hair. She’s always so polite and respectful and easy to conversation with. I just love going to her salon. The people, the atmosphere and the work done is the best in Syracuse, even better than the expensive top salon in Chicago that I’ve been to! I recommend her to everyone and will never go anywhere else to have my hair done. I see a few bad reviews on here but they are the complete opposite of what I’ve experienced and how I’ve seen her act towards other customers. She is always accommodating and professional with everyone. If I ever move out of Syracuse, I will fly back just to get my hair done by her!

I trust her completely to advise on what is safe and healthy for our hair, especially my daughters ever changing colors! She is both professional and incredibly friendly and upbeat. Venus has been doing my hair for years, and I have thick natural hair and she always has my best interest at heart…From offering Keratin Treatments, and taking the time to cut and straighten my hair every time I go to the salon. As I said I have a head FULL OF HAIR, so it’s nice for her to tame the beast. She is very professional and is one of the only people I trust with my hair. It was a little funny seeing these bad comments come from all the groupon people… I’ve seen Venus talk very nicely to customers who blantantly try to get a deal out of her or expect the groupon to do more than what is offered. A coupon is a coupon, and if you want all the extras, you will have to pay. I have always been happy with my hairstyles and my hair is healthy and happy to this day, I highly recommend.

I purchased the blow out, deep conditioning treatment with a cut for 19 as I recently moved and am looking for a new hair stylist I figured 19 is not a bad price for the services offered and a chance to see if the stylist is going to be my new go to. I called before going in as I have never purchased through Groupon before and wanted to make sure of the details before heading in to the salon. I spoke with Venus who claimed to be the owner, I mentioned that I had purchased the deal and was having trouble locating the actual voucher part of it and if I could just show her that I had paid the 19. She said no but that she would honor the price of 19 and the package it entailed and I could just pay cash, and request a return on the other 19 I had already been charged through Groupon. She booked me same day for 5:30 as I was looking to get a same day appointment if possible so that was great. I arrived waited about 15 minutes and she then said she could start my hair in between another service I mentioned that I was able to access the voucher as I clearly would like to not have to go through the trouble of a return if unnecessary and she stated she would not do my hair for that price she would have scheduled me with someone else had she known…. that she would only make 5 off of the service and doesn’t do hair for that price. Nor would I but if it’s to cheap for you why even offer it? Basically super un happy with how the experience there turned out Venus claiming it was a miscommunication but I am am well aware I communicated my concerns clearly before I cane in which is why I called before heading in in the first place. She could have simply said if you are able to retrieve your voucher somehow before you come in for your appointment then I will not take you and reschedule you with someone else who is ok with making less money and saved me wasting my time which I fully do not appreciate. Will not be trying this salon out again of course. Only 1 star because you have to.

Wow so after reading all the negative reviews I have to say how sad it is that such a great professional establishment is being tarnished by such individuals who have nothing better to do with their time. I have been getting my hair done by Venus for more than 4 years and I have been nothing more than satisfied with my outcome. She goes above and beyond to accommodate to my every hair need. I cannot express my gratitude enough to how much she has saved me from hair dilemmas. Venus is a outstanding professional hair dresser and Let it be known she is a kind genuine individual who is above all this negative talk. For all those reading this who have never been to Venus Salon and Spa please give her salon a try, I promise the service is great, the environment is welcoming and you won’t leave upset about your experience!

I would have to agree with Cindy. Venus is very accommodating. I have been client of hers since my senior year in college. So that would be six years. I destroyed my own hair and she was able to fix it and I never stopped going. When she was between salons she invited me to her home so she could do my hair. If that’s not accommodating I don’t know what is? I even trust her to think of an idea and go with it and it always turns out fabulous. As far as the yelling goes, I don’t believe that one iota. She has never taken a walk in over an appointment. She will tell them to come back or they are welcome to wait. When it comes to Groupon, my first instinct reading both negative comments, was that the only thing Venus is guilty of is expecting adults to be organized and responsible enough to bring their paper work. Its like going to the grocery store and telling the cashier that you have a coupon but its not with you and you still want the discount. I have referred many women to Venus and not one complaint. Including my mother who is the pickiest woman in the world when it comes to her hair. The absolute only thing I can think of for why you walked out with hot mess hair is that you didn’t listen to her suggestions and wanted her to go above and beyond the Groupon without paying extra. People out there don’t believe one word that these negative people have to say Venus is accommodating to a fault. Which obviously some people try to take advantage of. I could text her right now for an appointment and she would fit me in tomorrow. I actually just did. Oh and also after I had my baby my hair was down to my bra line. She cut it to just below my shoulders and didn’t charge a dime. Her prices are even decent compared to other salons who can’t properly style ethnic hair. wind up paying over 100 dollars and still still walk out with a frizzy mess. She keeps up with her education and newest techniques, and runs her salon solo throughout. If you ask me that’s a hard working business woman who knows what shes doing. I could go on forever about the over exaggerated fallacies but I won’t. Negative people don’t deserve that kind of time. I posted because I wont your negativity give Venus’ Salon and Spa a bad rep.

Very disappointed and would not return! I bought a Groupon for cut, condition and blow-dry. Called and set an appointment and got there on time to find her working on another client. She told me to take a seat but did not tell me how long of a wait it was going to be. And once she stared working on me, she kept going back and forth between clients which only added to my frustration. She finally got me on the chair and started trimming my hair (thankfully I only went in for a trim and wasn’t looking to get an adventurous cut). She then starts blowdrying my hair and realizes its frizzy (duh). This wasn’t my first time buying such a Groupon package for other salons and other hairstylists just go ahead and straighten my hair after seeing it blowdried which makes sense since you can’t really see how even the haircut is without straightening it. But Venus wanted to charge me extra to straighten it. I was already very dissatisfied with my experience and wasn’t interested in spending any of my money there so she wet my hair again and I left. I straightened my hair the next day and it was BUTCHERED!!! I would have done a better job if I had went ahead and trimmed it myself. She is just interested in your money and will attempt to overcharge you. She also doesn’t really care about you or how happy you are with the service and outcome. I normally don’t write business reviews but this was such a terrible experience that I felt the need to share. I honestly don’t know how she is still in business. Find another salon: I guarantee your experience will be better elsewhere!
