I haven’t worn my natural hair in some years and I decided to give it another try. I was searching for the best of the best to do a blowout. I finally found VIP Dominican Beauty and it was the best decision I’ve made. I’m beyond happy with my hair and their services. The staff there is amazing and I’m definitely going to return soon. I called first to get a price on how much the service would cost and when I arrived that didn’t change. I appreciate that so much because sometimes you’re told one thing on the phone and another in person. The salon is very quiet and very clean. I loved that they used gloves to wash my hair, super sanitary. Susana was so nice. She blew out my hair, passed the flat iron- I usually don’t get that as it’s typically too much heat but she recommended I do that because of how hot it was that day. She also trimmed my ends which didn’t result in half my hair being cut !!! I am new the the area, originally from NY, so I know a good Dominican hair salon from the moment I walk in and this was it and more. I called first to get a price on how much the service would cost and when I arrived that didn’t change. I was desperate so I decided that their ridiculous price of 120 for a wash and blow out would have to be paid. They did my hair amazing but the young girl setting the prices is crazy. It’s sad they do great Hair but the pricing which is double is so far out there. Found another spot same service 65 dollars. Now I can do my hair once a week not once a month

most uncomfortable and unsatisfying experience ever. the lady washing my hair didn’t know how to handle type 4 hair in a healthy and careful way. I asked a few questions and she was aggravated and complaining in Spanish. I don’t speak Spanish fluently but I understand. She then proceeded to complain very loudly in Spanish that I was staring at her while I was getting my hair straightened. It’s a beauty salon. There are not many places I could be looking. I paid $120 for a wash a straighten style even after I complained and the lady didn’t even finish styling my hair because I felt so uncomfortable with them talking badly about me in Spanish that I wanted to leave. The only redemption the clerk offered me was a “I’m sorry”. This is why we don’t support businesses like this. I was in a last minute situation and needed my hair done, but never again. Not to mention the extreme heat use and carelessness on my hair. Just a complete negative experience.

I always come here for my silk press and trim. The ladies are so kind and prices are so reasonable, considering I’m originally from New York I know a good Dominican salon. I trust my hair with these women!

I have been supporting this business for years. I walked in at 5:35pm and was told the last walk in is at 5:30pm. I explained to the receptionist that I have been a customer for years. I got stuck in traffic and I have an important work event tomorrow. I was told I could not get a wash and blowout. Five minutes versus losing a loyal customer. Not a good business practice.

They need another person to wash the hair..or a faster person in any case. I had to wait a lot. My hair apparently was burned because I had the smell for about 2 weeks even after 2 more washes. Hairstyling

2nd Review: I arrived at 3:45pm on Thursday. I was immediately washed by the awesome hair washer. She finished washing my hair at 4:30pm. I sat in stylist chair. Stylist was sitting the whole time as there were not many customers in at that time. She lazily walks to my chair. The website & sign says they close at 6pm. I asked for a roller set and was told it was too late & they can only blow dry because they close at 5:15pm. I didn’t want to blow dry as they use too much direct heat. I just left with wet hair.

I wanted to love this place, I’m from NY so it was so exciting to find a Dominican salon. My first experience was great, so decided to go back for another wash and blow. My Second experience was horrible! First, I am almost certain that they were making fun and laughing at me because I am a Hispanic woman and told them that I did not speak Spanish. FYI I do understand the basics. It was extremely embarrassing sitting in the chair while stylists speak about you negatively in a different language. To make things worse, I go to pay and I’m being charged more money than I did my first visit. First visit in March I was charged $70 for a wash, blow and cut but this time just 1 month later I’m being charged $75 for just a wash and blow. What a rip off! Extremely unprofessional stylist and inconsistent prices! Lost an almost loyal customer.

This was my first time going to this salon and I will say I really enjoyed my experience. I loved how I was able to walk right in and didn’t have to wait long before I was taken care of.
