This is my third time getting my hair done at VIP Braids Salon today. I absolutely love this place, they are professional and extremely courteous. I am extremely pleased with my hair, I got medium knotless braids with highlights. I have soft fine hair and the braids did not feel heavy nor too tight. Won’t do business at this location again. Their random pricing is ridiculous and it seems like they make it up as they go. When I first took my daughter here for box braids they charged $160 after the 3rd visit they started charging $180. On the 4th visit I was charged $220. All for the same style. The greed is nauseating. Never do business anywhere that doesn’t post pricing. This place is notorious for rattling off high prices like its ok. Either they don’t remember their repeat customers or it just doesn’t matter to them. I usually give places like this great reviews because any business that is customer facing can be tough. However you cannot just charge a customer something different everytime they frequent your establishment. It doesn’t matter if you think you are the best business in town. If you say that customer satisfaction is your priority then it is very important that you provide consistency in pricing. If you cannot accomplish that, then how good you are doesn’t matter.

I could not get in with my usual braider, so I gave this place a try at the recommendation of a friend. Making an appointment was easy. Upon arrival, I was sat immediately in the chair. I specifically asked that my edges not be braided for which I kept being told that parts were too long not to braid. I asked that if it must be braided, do not braid it too tight around the edges. The owner of the shop had to tell the ladies that they were putting too much hair in the braid for the amount of my hair they were putting into the braid. At one point there were 4 people working on my head and one of the ladies was braiding my hair so tight that it was unbearable and I had to ask her multiple times to take it easy – and this is coming from someone who is not tender-headed and a former braider myself.I didn’t love the finished look, but it wasn’t bad and I made it work. But here I am 2 weeks later having to take the braids out because they are literally ripping out my edges. Multiple braids have had to be removed in the front an globs of my hair have come out with them leaving bald spots around my edges. So now I have wasted $230. There is a reason I avoid these braid shops. I have re-learned my lesson.
