I walked in as a last minute treat-yourself since I had a job interview the next day. During the hair washing I felt like nothing was really cleaned (I have a lot of thick hair) and I had to ask her to cut it more than she originally did. The cut was okay, but she did an awful job at blow drying. She seemed rushed, and kept answering the phones while doing my hair. I left the salon with really frizzy hair, and had to finish the job at home.

I went in there wanting to have my hair highlighted. I sent reference photos as to what I wanted. I asked for a lighter brown color and a honey brown, instead my hair has bright red highlights in it. I was asked if I wanted copper, and I said sure thinking it would be more of a orangey brown or even a ginger color, which after researching that’s exactly what it is. My hair now has bright cherry red strands in it, and not to mention the highlights are very patchy and not well blended. You can see where my hair color stops and the hair dye starts. I’m extremely bummed. I wasted over $200 on something that doesn’t even look semi close to what I asked for.

It’s unprofessional and unacceptable when you tell a “stylist “ (Tiffany) what you want and they take it upon themselves to do what they want. I wanted a little taken off the ends and a little off the sides to shape and lift. Simple request. What I got was short layering off the back when I specifically wanted it all one length and a little off the sides. I paid $63.25 for my hair to be messed up. Unacceptable! I would not recommend this salon, nor will I be returning.

Upon reaching out to stylist, no form of trying to reconcile the issue was offered. I feel like the stylist was uneducated about this process and used cheap products. I typically don’t complain and this is the 1st google review I have ever posted but I want to warn everyone about the potentials they may face if they visit this place! Joannah is the stylist to seek out! I’ve seen her three times now and in those times she has corrected my hair colour, brightened my hair colour, and provided a cut which topped off the look I was hoping to achieve. She is patient, listens carefully to what you want, and adds advise when needed. An added bonus… She’s a fun person to chat with while she works her artistry on my hair. I can’t imagine going to any other stylist. Urban Hair Lounge is fortunate to have her on their team!

Stephanie was able to fit me in last minute for a hair cut and keratin treatment. She took her time and made me feel so comfortable! The salon is beautiful as well. My hair came out a million times better than when I walked in. She was so patient and kind the whole entire time. I will definitely be going to her from now on.
