Interesting experience. Three stars because my moms hair turned out awesome, despite the experience. I booked and paid for two deep treatment and styles. Mom and I were both supposed to steam as part of the deep treatment for 15 minutes. My steamer got unplugged or quit after about five minutes and my stylist just says, “That probably wasn’t 15 minutes.” And goes on washing my hair. So, not a very deep treatment. Mom was under there 20-30 minutes, her stylist was MIA. My stylist had my hair cut and dried before mom even got out of the shampoo bowl. There wasn’t “any time to curl” my hair, which was a bummer because I paid $100+ for a treatment AND style. But she did dust my split ends off quick, which I guess could replace the style part. The rest of the experience was very interesting. The receptionist walked out amid arguments with the stylists, and some yelling. If I wasn’t a little annoyed my hair didn’t get done and mom was still in the bowl, I would’ve thought the whole thing was entertaining. But the free entertainment and disappointing salon experience was not worth $245, plus tip.

She does top notch work and spends time educating me on products and techniques so I can achieve my look on my own at home. Thanks for always making me feel like a queen!

Kristy (The Owner) Reached out to me personally with sincere apologies about my numerous cancelled appointments and shared in my frustration. I was told the staff at the St. Paul location would be re-coached on business etiquette. She also then got me into her chair very quickly where she did an amazing job at no charge.

I feel terrible that I’m writing this review but ppl need to know. I was aloyal customer for several years and was pretty satisfied most of the time. But today I went to get my haircut which I scheduled 4 months ago and was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. The salon which relocated from Maple Grove to St. Paul has gone from being top of the line to the bottom. I’m not sure what happened there, but starting with the look of the place and down to the service I got, it was nothing like what I ever experienced at any salon, let alone at Uptown Curl. The photos on Google here are from the previous location in Maple Grove so don’t let them deceive you. The place looked like a dump, definitely not a place I’d ever choose. The stylist took about 5 minutes to cut my hair. Even though it was an express cut, it has never taken less then 30 minutes. It didn’t look like she was very experienced and asked me of my hair “felt” good and said it looked good to her. I had to tell her what to do… like, seriously?! You’re the professional and should know what to do. Of course, I was charged the full price and I don’t think it was worth it. Today they lost me as a customer. It really breaks my heart to see such a great business lose its charm

Went to get my 9 month old his first hair cut. We had an appointment at 10 am our hair stylist came in late.
