At 9mo pregnant I waited 1 1/2 hours after my appointment to be sat. New to the area had no other place to go and needed a protective style. Finally I was told a second person would come to get me out fast. Two people, over hour $140 later I left. I would not recommend nor will I be returning.

Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, QualityCame in for box braids and within three hours I was done. Tameka is amazing, fast and wonderful and she can braid let me tell you. Best experience I have had in a long time. Definitely will return !!!

Just left Upscales about an hour ago, and honestly I can’t say enough about Tameka and the whole salon in general! Everything was clean, the bathroom was clean, Tameka was on time, she was friendly yet professional. She worked fast!!! I got my whole head braided with extensions in less than 4 hours!!! What??? That’s unreal.

Critical: Professionalism, PunctualityI was given appointment at 8 am and waited a week for this appointment for box braids for special occasion. I get there and they tell me no stylist. Lady asked “Did you confirm?” Yes, I confirmed. It was the same lady, Tamika, I confirmed with. Almost sent me away but called a stylist and said come back later. Granted the child’s hair did not look good it was just taken down and washed for hair styling. I come back after an hour and still no stylist. No acknowledgement or any comment stylist is coming. Waiting and waiting for another hour finally I gave up and left. They didn’t care. Probably was no stylist coming in the first place. Not the first time they’ve made me wait excessively . Usually it’s due to stylists being late or stylist didn’t know or stylist didn’t come. They are rude too. If these services were readily available I would have never gone back in the first place. I recently moved in the area and was desperately looking for a place to get my and my daughter’s hair braided. I stumbled upon Upscales Hair Lounge. I spoke with Nicole, told her my dilemma and she worked hard to ensure that myself and my daughter were taken care of. She was beyond amazing. When I arrived to the shop, the stylist (didn’t get her name) was so polite and welcoming. She gave me a sew-in and I am so pleased with the results. Later on in the evening, I brought my daughter in to have her hair in box braids, that stylist (didn’t get her name either ♀️) was also polite and welcoming. I would recommend this salon to everyone; and I am grateful that my daughter and I have a place to go to get out hair done!

Amicia is AWESOME. She’s very attentive and listens to directions very well. Im always going back to her. First time getting braided and I got what I wanted. Clean shop, and organized. However getting a hold of them to make an appointment is difficult at times. The ladies preform a great service but you have to answer the phones. Box Braids

The stylist was there before my appt and was very professional. Before she started twisting my hair I told her exactly what I wanted. She listened, explained to me what she was doing with my hair, did a few a strands and made sure I liked the size and length before she continued. It turned out great! I read some of the previous reviews and was a little worried but I’m glad I went. Clean place, professional stylist, and reasonable price for my hairstyle.

I had a 3:00 appointment today to get passion twist crochets. The woman who done my hair told me to bring 7 packs, but i only brung 6 because i didn’t want them to be thick. After i was seated, she started to braid my hair and it was terrible. The braids were unusual and not tight enough. Then she started putting my crochets in. This lady left a GAP in the back of my head and made the rest of my hair bulky. I paid $85 for the crochets not including the $60 i had paid for the hair. My crochets look like they have been up for a week and are ready to come down. I highly recommend that you do not come here.
