I’ve been going here for quite a while. The beds are nice, great variety of lotions, and good hours. The only thing that keeps me from giving it 5 stars, are the employees, that seem to be put off by having to do their jobs. Customer service is a big issue for me anywhere I go. Otherwise, this is a great place to tan.

Best beds anywhere around for sure. Most of the staff is great with the exception.. I feel like they should really pay attention to whom they hire. The young girl double charged my husband for the package he got me as a gift.. and told him he could not purchase more than a week. When I talked to another worker she looked at me like I was crazy. But at least gave me two weeks although the amount he paid should have been a month. And my file was under the wrong person’s name and is still this way. I would not care but came one day n was told I had done tanned for the day. Which I hadn’t. Beds are great… Employees however… Think the owner should truly reevaluate them… Definitely. I know I’m not the only complaining. And when I asked for the managers name and contact info I was told they didn’t have the info. Lol. Hmmmm.

University Tanning in Radford is terrific. Their customer service on the phone and in-person is wonderful. They are always knowledgeable and polite while answering questions and helping customers. I would definitely recommend University Tanning. There is loads of parking and this is very easy to find.

I purchased a package next day went back & it was boarded up & closed ! At that point I contacted the owner and she told me the new owner would open in a month and he would honor the package. Went when it reopened to be told they sour apple a package but would not honor it ! I was amazed and a palled at the rudeness that I was being talk to and she also told by a 12-year-old that was on Snapchat not to be recording her which is hilarious because she didn’t even know anything was going on !!! I would NOT recommend going or tanning here !!! Totally lost a good local customer but what do they care when all they care about is college kids

I first started going to University Tanning years ago when I won a free year off the radio. I live in Blacksburg and drive to radford to tan because they not only have great beds at an affordable price but they are very clean as well. Their staff is always friendly and helpful and the owners are such sweet hard working people. I wouldn’t drive 30 mins away to tan if there was anything that even compared to University Tanning. I love you guys!

Carpets, ceilings, and wall stereos need updating badly. My tanning experience is always wonderful. Very clean, and the staff offer good advise for those just starting on their tan (time limits, lotions, etc…), and they also don’t push you to buy lotion. Because of Virginia state law and common sense, protective eyewear is necessary and important at this salon. If the customer need to purchase eyewear, the salon sells basic eyewear for $3, and fashionable eyewear for $4 – $5 (comes with your choice of color carrying pouch with keychain attachment). There are also great deals, with monthly packages usually being reduced by $10. I’m not a frequent tanner, but I always appreciate their great customer service.
