Critical: Quality, ValueI was very disappointed in my deluxe pedicure and manicure today. My friend and I wanted to try a new place for our nails had heard great things about Universal! We had an appointment for pedicures and shellac. They were ready for us upon our arrival, but it quickly went downhill from there. My pedicure was painful, and I verbally said ouch a few times due to poor cuticle trimmer usage and then when a nail drill (I think that’s what it’s called) was used on my toe nails, which I have never seen before. I had nicks in multiple places around my nails and then when they used some sort of polish remover/acetone it would burn. It was overall very unpleasant.Then came my nails with a different gentleman. I had said I wanted shellac MULTIPLE times to them when I came in and then AGAIN when he put dip powder in front of me; I actually said “can I have shellac instead?” To which he replied, “they’re the same thing.” I said to myself, oh okay, maybe the place I usually goes just calls it something different or does it differently. I ended up getting a dip with a quick manicure which is exactly what I didn’t want. As you can see from photos, it was done very very poorly. I went up to pay and they said $96 for my services which seems crazy expensive for the quality, product and experience I got. They attempted to charge me for a dip but I quickly explained that I had said I wanted shellac multiple times and did not receive that. I was very disappointed in my deluxe pedicure and manicure today. My friend and I wanted to try a new place for our nails had heard great things about Universal! We had an appointment for pedicures and shellac. They were ready for us upon our arrival, but it quickly went downhill from there. Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, QualityAfter trying a handful of places in the QC my new go to is Universal Nails. First thing I love is that they actually take appointments and honor your time when you arrive. Cindy is so friendly and wonderful to talk to. The salon is incredibly clean (not to mention well decorated). The times I have been in I have seen lots of cleaning and disinfecting going on. The color selection is phenomenal and my dips last near a month (which for how hard I am on my nails that is amazing). They have always made sure I am happy with what they have done before I leave and are happy/willing to make any corrections so customers leave satisfied. After trying a handful of places in the QC my new go to is Universal Nails. First thing I love is that they actually take appointments and honor your time when you arrive. Cindy is so friendly and wonderful to talk to. The salon is incredibly clean (not to mention well decorated). The times I have been in I have seen lots of cleaning and disinfecting going on. They took their time and when getting ready to leave they noticed a smudge of paint on my toe and immediately fixed it which I really appreciated. Also, great color selection.
