I went to this salon over the weekend because I impulsively decided to cut my hair. There was a sign outside that said they accepted walk ins so I was hopeful they might be able to take me in. The first thing I noticed was how nice the salon looked like inside. There were about 3 stylists and all were busy with clients so I figured it could take a while or maybe I wouldn’t be able to get seen at all, which I understood and would have been okay with. The problem I had was that literally not one word was said to me in the half hour I was there. No one said hi, we’ll be right with you, etc. No one even looked in my direction. Again, I get it, they were busy with clients but I feel like the least they could have done was acknowledge I was there. One stylist even walked past me at some point and still I was not acknowledged at all. It was very awkward for me so I just left. I wish I had had a good experience but unfortunately I didn’t so I probably wouldn’t try to go back again. It seemed like a nice place though so hopefully my experience was only one of the few that was bad.

The salon is nicely decorated and very clean. I took 3 granddaughters in for haircuts. Two of them had longer hair and had a drastic change to shorter hair. The other one had shorter hair and went with the shave around. Mani Mares did a fantastic job with their hair cuts. Mani was so very nice and super efficient, 3 happy girls came out. We were even offered drinks. We will be returning for trims. I recommend unique by design. What a pleasant experience for my girls.

I will never go to any other salon because Unique By Design is the best one. Katie, my stylist is so sweet and knows how to cut my crazy thick hair that i like to call my “lions mane”. I always feel at home and welcomed here. 10/10 would sit in Katie’s chair again!
