The one in Montgomery Village is never available for straight cornrolls no weave so off to Old Town Road Gaithersburg. The lady tried to get to do $40 4 braids with weave. Nope natural hair straight cornrolls for me.

Critical: Professionalism, ValueI asked for distressed butterfly locs and they gave me regular locs which I did not ask for and they are not mid back length. The first picture is what I asked for, the second picture is what I got and the third picture my hair is unraveling after one day. I usually don’t do post. But this was a horrible experience. I asked for a refund and the owner stated we don’t do refunds. I asked if she could fix it, she stated they can’t. She does not value her customers at all. I asked for distressed butterfly locs and they gave me regular locs which I did not ask for and they are not mid back length. The first picture is what I asked for, the second picture is what I got and the third picture my hair is unraveling after one day. I usually don’t do post. But this was a horrible experience. I asked for a refund and the owner stated we don’t do refunds. I asked if she could fix it, she stated they can’t. She does not value her customers at all. I would agree they are very good however this past Tuesday August the 16th , 2022 showed me how unprofessional they are. I had scheduled my daughter appointment the week before. So on the day of her appointment we arrived 15 minutes earlier because we were on public transportation. Had to wait for one of the braider’s to call the braider that was suppose to do my daughter’s hair. The braider that was suppose to do my daughter’s hair stated she was’t feeling well, wow and then I was told I we could go to the other location no we are on public transportation and we already have to catch 2 or more buses. I took my business elsewhere and I’m very happy. I will never refer or make another appointment with Unique Braids.

They need help with there customers services and I d it not like how they literally do not answer the phone so that people can atleast make an appointment. I live to far to just be a walk in because they can easily turn me away, cause I don’t have a scheduled app. What I normally/usaully get as far is hairstyle is time consuming. I arrived and there was no wait! The prices are standard and they were fast! Large box braids took 2.5 hours and 30 minutes to finish. I would definitely return.

I made an appointment to get feed-in cornrows. When I arrived I provided the picture of the style I wanted and was told who was going to do my hair. I sat and waited. While I was waiting another lady approached me and said the ladies at the shop were not all skilled in doing cornrows and suggested I did individuals in the back of my hair while I wait for the 1 lady who did. I reluctantly agreed and asked if they can do the knotless individuals. I was told that would cost more (over $200). At that point I had been waiting an hour and no one had began my hair. If someone makes an appointment for a specific style the shop should be prepared to provide that service. I ended up going to another shop (Rebecca’s) not far and they were able to do the feed-in cornrows. I do not recommend this shop for anyone looking to get cornrows.

I been going here for a while and it’s unfortunate that i will never come back. I asked for small knotless braids with the color 1b. Before they started braiding my hair I looked at the packaging and it was color #2. I told the lady that I wanted 1B and she said well we don’t have that color and I said you were just going to put whatever color you wanted in my hair? Then she proceeded to head to the front to find the correct color. There were two people working on my hair the lady who started in the front she made my braids too big. This particular braider has a habit of doing large braids on individuals they are not tight and not neat. I did not notice she was doing big braids until the owner said your braids are two different sizes. When customers come in it should only be one person doing their hair not two people. I did not appreciate the staff eating while doing customers hair. There was a man in the shop the day I went and he was selling items from their country the braiders literally stopped what they were doing to purchase items from him. This was very unprofessional. I also noticed they tell customers they can do stitch braiding but they cannot. A customer asked for stitched straight backs. She left the shop with just regular straight backs and they were not neat.
