I am unsure of where to begin with this review, upon arrival to the salon with my fiancée the exterior is clean and poses no threat however the services rendered can only be explained as horrific. My fiancée went for a trial hair and makeup for our wedding this year and her experience was just awful. As an outsider when I picked her up I first noticed how upset she was and that she just did not look like herself. The hair that Tanya did looked nice but what we were looking for is a very simple half up look that any stylist could handle and pull off. When it came to the make up it immediately looked cakey and the color was was so wrong she looked orange, I do not know if there was bronzer in what she used but it wasn’t working. She was in tears she was so upset, explaining to me that she used her bare hands and just brushes to apply everything, starting her look before asking to see a reference. It was only after completion of an older style that a picture was shown, since the clearly desired, verbally expressed look wasn’t achieved. Tanya was VERY insistent that her fake lashes were the problem and kept trying to apply mascara (to my knowledge that is a no-no with extensions). She was unable to create a “smokey eye” because of the lashes apparently and was well aware that they were fake, stating in an email (from I Do salon) that the references were photoshopped and the look was essentially unachievable and that she would require fake lashes (again she did know that the lashes were fake)… I’m not sure how it happened, it was probably one of the brushes, but Tanya managed to cut her face right above her lip. The completely outdated look that was produced is evidence of her age and “14+ years of experience”. Tanya did not have red lipstick but in an email claims she threw it out because it was old and states that “as a rule brides don’t do red for their wedding” which a quick Google search proves is just an excuse. To top off this traumatic experience Tanya felt it necessary to insert her own opinions about smoking, for what professional reason I have no clue. I would not recommend this salon to anyone, even if you can not find another, just do the makeup yourself. We wound up here using “I do salons” via weddingwire and I will be posting this review there as well as on “the knot”. I wish I could post images with this review however I am unable.

Tanya at Ultimate Hair Salon is great. I am very picky about my hair and she has for the last year done a fantastic job. Friendly and Professional service. I definitely recommend to both women and men for hair services.

Brittany is fabulous, last week she gave me one of the best perms I ever had! I have long hair that is fine and tends to be resistant to curling so it’s not the easiest to perm. Over the past few years I suffered through two terrible failed/damaging perms from other places while looking for a good stylist and am so glad to have now found Brittany. The perm is really curly like I wanted, with just one or two small strands underneath that failed to curl (which is not unexpected) and my hair doesn’t feel at all fried. Yay!
