Critical: QualityWorst pedicure I have ever had. The technician kept on hurting me while filing and cleaning my feet. The polish came out uneven, clumpy and rough. Would not recommend at all. There are other places in the area that costs less and do a better job. Hope this helps.Service: Pedicure

Critical: ProfessionalismSo I want to start off this review stating I’m a licensed Cosmetologist. I also know how to do nails, know how much gel colors cost, nail tips etc. But I like to get my nails done for the reasons of supporting local beauticians and not having to do my own due to the difficulty on oneself and the relaxation piece. This is only my second time going here for the reasons of it being so conveniently located. The first time I went, the customer service was great! What I don’t like is the lack of customer service this visit and having to be required to pay cash?! I don’t care if the cc company is charging you whatever for cc transactions, that’s not your customers problem! It’s 2021, people don’t carry cash or like to do cash transactions.. it’s all card now. There are no signs saying this and I don’t think it applies for everyone. I don’t like that the website has incorrect pricing and doesn’t reflect this change, since when I call to confirm pricing it’s different and fluctuates (always more). I get to my appointment and one pedicures the greets me she was fine, it’s the one who did my fill of my full set. Did not greet me as I sat at her station, I greeted her she stayed radio silent!!! Throughout the entire duration of my mail appointment, did not make me wash my hands (which she had me do my previous visit and gave a hot towel hand arm massage which she didn’t do here either) and greeted every other customer that came in. Even when working on my hands would just motion for me what to do nonchalantly. I don’t know if it’s because I questioned your pricing or what but your attitude was very clear!!!!! On top of going to close to my cuticles causing discomfort and burning which later when I washed my hands had mini cuts. Needless to say, I’m done with this salon. I originally thought it was decent but after today, no thank you! I’ll gladly spend my money elsewhere.Service: Acrylic nailsSo I want to start off this review stating I’m a licensed Cosmetologist. When I first started going there it was an amazing shop. So kind, did a great job. 2 in a half weeks ago I went there. The lady was rude, I tried asking for a couple more coats and asking her to shape the nail a little better (in a polite way, I hate asking them to fix my nails when I get acrylics done I feel rude) she just kept saying “I know what I’m doing”. So I stopped. The next day, you could see THROUGH the polish, the shaping was not the best. The clear coat started peeling off all together after 3 days, after a week the clear coat peeled off all the nails and the polish started wearing away too. One nail broke in half after less than a week while I was putting on my shoe. Another nail broke in half about a week ago when I was putting on my shirt!!! And the third, i have no idea, it just broke off without me noticing the same day. This place used to be amazing. Definitely went downhill. Very rude as well. Wish I knew how to add a photo, my nails are a mess, barely looked like a decent job for not even a week.

Critical: Professionalism, QualityUPDATE: Changed rating. Found out that the poor girl is still getting harassed on multiple occasions. Fight on girl, don’t let the bullies win.Let me preface this by saying that I’m not a customer, but I have a couple of friends who were regulars and had been coming here for years. Recent comments had me curious so I asked around, and here what I’ve gathered about this Tropical Nail Spa salon (there are over 50 places with the exact same name in the country). It’s 2021. One would think that having an online presence and being able to book an appointment electronically is the norm, but it’s not always the case. So after being requested many times by many clients, some of which don’t like to call the salon because they were usually busy, not being able to book with her directly, etc., this former employee decided to put up her own money, out of her own pockets, to pay for these services. So if you book online, you’ll only see her name, since she was the only one paying for it, not the owner or other staffs. It makes sense to me, I wouldn’t put up money for others either, it’s the owner’s job. It’s also IMPORTANT to note that ALL transactions are paid in store, not online. The owner can confirm this as all customers payed at the cash register and not just simply walked away. Meaning, she DID NOT keep any payment to herself. So, the owner actually profited from all her works. Of course, this caused tensions among her co-workers who are less technical about these things.I find it kind of funny that they keep using the word “hack” to describe all of this. It’s a salon that, before all of this, required all customers to call in to make appointments, which get written down by hand on the agenda book. It’s pretty analog all the way through. There’s nothing to hack. It’s how MARKETING works. You promote something, people response, more or less. It’s like you open a newspaper, and see an ad that says “I’m doing these services. Please come see me at my WORK place if you’re interested.” and got mad because people are coming to see the person that was mentioned in the ad.Instead of praising her for her initiatives, she was vilified for them. It’s their management style and their choice, so I can’t speak about that. However, I will say that a company that keep airing their laundry in public is not a very professional one at all. It does not get you sympathy or trust. All this remind me of how newspaper companies used to call fouls when their businesses transitioned online.UPDATE: Changed rating. Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ValueThis place is now run by a skeleton crew of maybe a couple employees at most, which is fine if you want something quick. I believe their only certified aesthetician is gone. They did bring back the manager that they fired awhile go, not sure what happened to the newer one. In any case, less employees means less drama, I guess. The good news is you mostly get the place to yourself on most days. This place is now run by a skeleton crew of maybe a couple employees at most, which is fine if you want something quick. I have been going here for 2 months. I loved the friendly and clean atmosphere. However today has totally changed my opinion. While getting a Mani my girl had tl leave me sitting there for about 10 minutes while she went to take a personal phone call. No big deal right??? Well she came back angry and was doing my cats eye color wrong. When I questioned her on it she got argumentative with me then started rapid firing Korean to the owner loudly.. The owner jumped in to fix the mistake and finish my nails. This would have been OK I guess but while finishing my nails the disgruntled employee kept going back and forth with the owner, loudly.. Very uncomfortable for me. If I was at work behaving like that in public my boss would have made me apologize and perhaps given me a time out to re-group.. Neither happened here. I told the owner I was very uncomfortable and that employee should just stop her ranting. They offered me no charge for the Mani. I paid and said not sure if I’ll be back.

Critical: Quality, ValueThis salon has very kind staff which is why I’m giving 2 stars but I had a full set of acrylic nails with gel polish put on and they started popping off in less than 2 weeks. My pedicure chipped within 48 hours which is shocking considering I didn’t wear closed toe shoes for over 24hrs after receiving this service. The tips should stay on well over 2 weeks from my ecperience. This was a waste of my time and money.Service: PedicureThis salon has very kind staff which is why I’m giving 2 stars but I had a full set of acrylic nails with gel polish put on and they started popping off in less than 2 weeks. I have pedicures and gel manicures here regularly and have a positive experience every time! My gel manis last 2.5 to 3 weeks every single time which I appreciate as a busy mom. They have lots of pedi choices including with fresh fruits and cucumbers, every mani comes with paraffin, and everyone is pleasant. I tend to go on weekday or weekend mornings and I never have to wait more than a few minutes. I’ve heard it gets busier after work times so I’d call for an appointment if you’re coming then!

Well the experience there was fine but the technician clearly wasn’t paying attention to how much she was grating at my feet. Beware! My foot now has two raw spots it that will need to heal!
