I got a cut and wash from Erica. She was so sweet and kind. She took her time and gave me a cut sassy cut. You can tell she genuinely loves her job. She gave me a wash too that almost made me cry in a good way. Complete with a head massage. I promise to be back too! Thank you Erica!

This review is for Nani who is the hairdresser who washed, conditioned, trimmed, flat ironed and styled my hair. I have African American hair and she was excellent. This is the first time that I’ve found a Black or African American stylist that has done exactly what I asked for since moving to the Bay/Sacramento area 30 years ago! I felt pretty and light. She also respected that I’m growing my hair out and worked with me on a styling plan so that my hair will fully revert back to curly in between flat iron stylings. She didn’t overly straighten my hair (which I asked for), and it felt light and cute. She worked my existing grey (which I do not want to cover or color) into the style. She was friendly, professional, and personable.

Critical: Communication, ProfessionalismIf you’re looking to get your hair cut by the mean girls you went to Highschool with, you’re in luck!- I came into Tropical for extension placement and left feeling inadequette and embarassed.After I overheard the stylist (Lashonda?) and the Salon owner “whisper” their judgement of me and coming to get my name and phone number incase I run out on the bill, I took the cape off and walked out. I didn’t confront them as I was so embarassed. However I am not an addict looking for free services.. I am very thin due to medical issues and have C-PTSD and become extremely anxious in public- Especially when I am being Falsly judged.. Manicurist ask for more money when I went to do manicure and pedicure. I would recommend never go to nails there especially the man manicurist. Demanding for more money. First I was told for $60 but when I went there he increase the price.

I went here back when they were located near walmart for a waxing. Yes a man went for a wax, no it was not for a bet, I wanted to try it out. Angelique was the only person in town who would do a brazilian on a man, european wax refused profusely. Getting it done was a simple process and was made to feel comfortable through the process. The room is private and very clean, she made sure the wax was not too hot, talked me through exactly what was going to happen and how long it would take.

Had a coupon and was going to try out this place but the lady didn’t seem very nice and barely acknowledged me. The place also just wasn’t a relaxing environment so I left. Maybe they do amazing nails but customer service was lacking.
