I am a C-level professional and an extreme profectionist who has been going to Karen since 1999. From the start, she listened to me, got to know me, then combined my wishes with her professional knowledge to give me straight forward, bottom line, feedback. Whether it was for a perm, color, cut, or just a style, she hit the “Nail on the head” each and every time giving me exactly the look I was shooting for. For the times when I needed a change but didn’t know what I wanted, she instinctively knew what to do to keep me modern, give me a change, yet still keep me within the professional persona I had for myself. During the last couple of years, I’ve lived away from Wilmington and have gone to other stylists whom have not delivered; e.g. One turned my hair orange and one has taken just shy of 2 years to get my color half way to my desired point. I’ve traveled the distance to have Karen fix it. I can not say enough about her person and her capabilities. I give her 10 out of 5 stars to match the fact she gives 10 out of 5 star service. I’ve posted before and after photos of my hair going from a bronzie, brownish-red to a blonde with a light-brown undertone. I had spent close to $2k and 20+ months to go from a #4 dark brown to the bronzie, brownish-red color and was told it would take roughly another year or so and another $1.5k+ to get my hair where Karen got it in 1 sitting and for half the price of 1 sitting with my local stylist! She’s phenomenal!

I have been going to Karen for 8 years. She has now opened her own salon Tres Chic. The new salon sparkles, very clean and comfortable. It is a one client at a time salon, so quiet and restful. This allows Karen to focus on you and your needs. Now about Karen. First, she is an excellent stylist. I have straight hair with MANY cowlicks. She styles my hair in a way these cowlicks don’t cause problems. Second, she does an excellent job coloring my hair. I have lots and lots of white hair, but Karen keeps my hair a very natural and attractive brunette. Third, Karen has done perms for me, streaked my hair and done many different styles for me. She does a super job no matter what. Along with that she is a very nice person, easy to talk to, Interesting, and always polite. She listens to what I want and we always agree on the style before she starts cutting. So to me she is the best hairdresser ever!

I have seen my mother, Karen, for a few different types of services including lightening, color, and haircuts. She has always given me what I have asked and I loved the outcome of each service. She truly loves what she does and will take the time to make sure anyone walks out of her salon loving their hair. Even when she was working at her previous salon, her professionalism, creativity, and passion was still more than exceptional. I would definitely recommend her to anyone who wants a relaxing and phenomenal experience!

I have been using Karen’s expert services for twelve years. She has always taken great care of my hair, both highlighting and cuts. I have now (sadly) moved from the area, but I always make sure to see Karen when I’m back in town. It’s been a year since I was able to do that, but yesterday she gave me two hours of her time and expertise and fixed a really bad highlighting job that had been done at my new location. It was such a joy knowing that I could get to Karen because I knew she could fix the other hairdresser’s mistake. I have been to dozens of hairdressers in my time in several different states. I can say that I’ve never had a hairdresser on whom I could so thoroughly rely. I wish I could take her with me!

I have been going to Karen for about 10 years now. She is wonderful. I have had many different cuts and colors thru the years even a couple of “fixes” that I messed up. She is very meticulous and wants every style to be her best. Congrats on your own place! It was so quaint and peaceful. Color looks great and can’t wait for the next cut.
