We live for gender affirming hair! Our talented & skilled team is all about trust and communication to ensure a comfortable guest experience. We believe a studio visit should be fun, relaxing and also inspiring! We pride ourselves on our blend of expert consultations, attention to detail, curly hair knowledge, ability to work from sharp bobs into lived in shag haircuts and well crafted custom hair color. Through impeccable hair results and our safer space, we hope to make our Philadelphia hair studio-your new salon home!

I have never been happier with my hair! Transfiguration transformed the way I think about doing my hair. My stylist Hailey is so knowledgeable about my curly hair texture and has provided me with strategies I can use for quick easy styling. I also have been able to maintain beautiful vivid colors for months. I would recommend 10000 times over! Everyone in the salon is also incredibly friendly and sweet. Seriously the best hair experience I’ve had in years and I can’t say it enough.

I’ve had color and cuts done here by Ace and it’s always a wonderful experience. As a queer person I feel really seen and understood in this salon and they are very communicative with you to find a haircut that meets your needs and aesthetics and they help teach you to style it. Their products are great and not overly perfumed which I love. The shop environment is welcoming. I’m also so happy they are still maintaining solid Covid protocols – as someone in a high risk household it’s a relief!

Transfiguration is a perfect little dreamland of nice smells, laughter, lush greens, top-tier playlists, and great vibes – and that’s before we even get into the hair journey! I’ve gotten cuts from several different people on their team and always feel phenomenal about it. They take plenty of time to ask questions and answer mine before getting started and always communicate thoroughly and gently about every step. I feel like I’ve gotten to know my own hair better since I’ve been going here. They give styling tips that I can actually consistently reproduce on my own. I always leave feeling relaxed and confident and smiley, and the cuts grow out beautifully so my follow-ups scheduling is super flexible. Go hang out with these sweeties, you will not regret it ❤️

Nothing short of perfection getting my haircut by Hailey at Transfiguration. The hair studio is extremely COVID conscious, and always makes me feel comfortable surrounding gender and pronouns. Hailey is such a professional, they always walk me through exactly what they’re doing and why they’re making those cuts or adjustments. Having curly hair means being very cautious of who cuts your hair and I can confidently say Hailey cuts my hair in such a way that really makes me feel connected to my curls and makes them healthy and look amazing. Hailey gives haircuts that are really designed to grow out and still look impeccable. I always highly recommend Transfiguration and Hailey.

I first went to Hailey over the summer when i was looking to cut off all my hair and they made me super comfortable during the entire process. I was super nervous about going from super long hair to super short but they explained every step, allowed me to ask questions and even walked me through styling at the end! A full menu of services from someone who’s both deeply knowledgeable and non judgemental who can meet you where you’re at and loves to problem solve. She’s taught me so much about low maintenance but effective skincare and she’s the only person who’s ever gotten how I want my brows to look. Also you get to spend time with a lovely person in a pretty little calming space!

I started going to Transfiguration toward the beginning of the pandemic and have not gone anywhere since, and it’s a 30-45 minute drive away, when I could easily go somewhere closer. Lola is my haircrafter and they’re amazing! Very supportive and puts so much attention to my hair needs, even when I’m unsure what I want to go for. I love interacting with them and knowing that I can always just relax and let them focus on their craft. Mik has also been a great booking and content coordinator. They’ve been amazing with scheduling me if there are any issues and checking in as needed. The vibe of the group is very welcoming, so I’d definitely recommend checking them out!
