Kyle gave me a wonderful pedicure with a true spa-like experience. She was gentle, knowledgeable, and skilled. But the multiple strong fragrances, misters, soakers, etc. in the shop were inescapable and too much for me. It was like being attacked by a potpourri bomb. If you like that kind of thing, go for it. I was really excited to get my nails done here, but the service was not at the level I paid for. I got a set of acrylic nails and the nail extensions Kim put on were wider than my nails so they were digging into my skin on some fingers. Because the nails were too wide, they became unattached from my real nail very easily and within three days of getting them done all the nails came off. I have deep set nails so they are lower than the skin, but I have never had a nail tech have difficulty doing my nails well. I asked for almond shaped nails with a french tip and got rounded squares that were wider at the tips than the base. The french tips on some nails took up about half the nail and were very uneven. She shaped the nail so it pointed upward and had no apex as well as leaving the acrylic very thick. I considered asking her to fix my nails, but judging from the job she did, I did not think she would make them much better. Not sure if she was rushing and that’s why they were not as good as I have seen from this salon, but overall I was very disappointed.

Booked an appointment online and was excited to try out a new local nail place! The day of I was unexpectedly diagnosed with Covid. I called right away to let them know I would not be able to come in. The person that answered the phone said “yes, please don’t come. We do not want that here .” I then noticed I was still charged $55 . When I called and spoke with the owner to make her aware of the situation she was very rude and stated it’s their policy to charge for missed appointments. I advised her that testing positive for Covid was out of my control and I was told to stay home. She was again, very rude and made the excuse that other salons do the same . I cannot imagine charging someone for a service they didn’t receive when they were sick with Covid which is out of their control . This is unethical to me and terrible business practice. I suppose I should have kept my mouth shut, come in with Covid and infected the whole salon . Would NEVER recommend this place.

I had a very poor experience with the owner. Over the winter I tested positive for Covid the evening before my appt. Obviously I did not want to go in for the appt at that time. I was prudent in calling ASAP to reschedule my appointment since the cancellation stated you “may” be charged for cancellations. The owner declined to work with me on the cancellation charge and proceeded to tell me that she was charged more for a Christmas dinner she had to cancel than I was being charged and that she was not able to change the word “may” in the cancellation policy because it was a third party vendor application. Her response was more about validating herself than responding to my request to work with me on the cancellation. Poor customer service.

I lived 10 years in spa central Arizona and know what good spa services are. Always excellent spa quality pedicures with Kim. Kim’s demonstrated professionalism and skill in how a pedicure is supposed to be done is top notch. I moved from Purcellville to Winchester and it is worth the drive; I look forward to my appointments and wouldn’t go anywhere else.

After my first visit, I decided Top Coat is the only nail salon I’ll visit from now on! The salon and equipment are very clean, and they use natural emollients and lotions. The expert technicians, complimentary refreshments, great deals, and friendly atmosphere keep me counting down the days to my next appointment. Maria takes good care of me and makes sure my nails are fabulous every time! Can’t recommend this place enough.

Critical: ProfessionalismWow, what a terrible experience. This salon does not follow the COVID protocols put in place by the state, and they are rude to customers who disagree with them. I came with my elderly mother to have pedicures done. We had called the salon ahead of time to schedule the appointment, and they were aware of the fact that an elderly woman would be coming in. We saw the great reviews about the professionalism and cleanliness of the salon, which is why we drove all the way out from Lovettsville to check out the place. Upon our arrival, we immediately noticed that only 2/5 people in the salon were masked. Two of the staff persons (one of whom was the owner!!!) were unmasked. Due to my mother’s COPD and age, we were uncomfortable with this and decided to leave. While we were walking to the car, the owner followed us out and yelled at us. She said that the client she was working on was family; therefore, she didn’t need to wear a mask around her. Additionally, she told us that because we decided to leave— “this wasn’t the salon for us”. Plain unprofessional and rude. Wow, what a terrible experience. This salon does not follow the COVID protocols put in place by the state, and they are rude to customers who disagree with them. I came with my elderly mother to have pedicures done. We had called the salon ahead of time to schedule the appointment, and they were aware of the fact that an elderly woman would be coming in.
