My first experience here was pretty good. It’s a nice, pretty little salon. The man at the front desk (Jason I think?) was very welcoming to me and to others that I heard come in. I saw Helen for my dip powder nails. They didn’t have the exact colors that I wanted, but we found some similar alternatives. You just need to be very verbal about what you want. For instance, I said at the beginning that I wanted the stiletto shape. Once the tips were glued on, she said “Coffin shape right?” I said, “No, stiletto.” She nodded and then proceeded to shape them all as coffins so I said again, “I don’t want coffins, I just told you stiletto.” She had no idea what I meant until I showed her the picture again and she said, “oh, pointy!” Would have been easier if she knew the terms of all the common mail shapes as a nail tech, but we got there. She was very meticulous in applying the dip powder. In the end, my nails look beautiful 🙂 I just urge everyone to speak up when there’s still a chance for something to be fixed rather than waiting until the end of the appointment to speak up or not say anything at all and go home upset. I will be back and I hope to get an ombré with whatever technician is most skilled at them.

Extremely poor work done at this salon, i paid so expensive and the work was really bad. First they rush to take all walk in clients and they do fast fast a poor service to take all clients.. my nails was done by two people and it was all broken the next day. I called and went back to fixe .. they didn’t want to take me back to fixe it they were making up reasons. And now my pedicure is coming off too.. usually when i do pedicure they stay atleast 3weeks because you dont do match with your feet.. hands are hard to maintain since we wash dishes and keep using it. But both service was really bad. Dont go here if you dont want to waste your money and time.

I went today for my christmas nails, I just wanted a cute set of french, the lady doing my nails couldn’t do it, she did the french uneven and messy, some where thicker than the others, the white was very patchy. I got there at 5:50 pm, (yes I had an appointment) it was 7:30 and she was still working on a messy french. I just don’t understand what was so hard about it. I wasn’t trying to give anyone a hard time so I just asked her to remove the mess she was doing in my nails. She was kind of glad I asked for it & she got the guts to ask me “so what color do you want?” And I said “I don’t want a color, I want a french” I just said thanks and walk to the cashier. They end it up charging me $34 unfairly, because my nails were pale with no color on. The cashier said she was charging me that because the nail “tech” used gel on my nails. (I SWEAR AT THIS POINT I JUST WANTED TO CRY) because yes, this lady used gel on my nails but she used wrong, to the point she had to take it off, it wasn’t my fault she wasted the product. But I just wanted to get home to my child and ended up paying that ridiculous amount for just plain pale acrylic. I’m really super disappointed. Tomorrow is Christmas Eve, all the places are booked or closing early, so I will have to wear my nails like this. ☹️

Tracy did a polish change and a gel manicure for me and did a great job – she even took care of a broken nail in a way that will keep it until it grows out. She was very good at her job as well as very friendly. From check in to leaving everyone was very nice, professional and friendly. Definitely going back! Gel manicures

I’m a regular nail salon goer to the Top Coat Nail bar in the Fairlakes area. One of the very best nail salons in the Fairfax. The nail salon is very clean and managed well. Most of the nail techs are good. The one that I see every time is Helen. She listens to your needs and delivers the best manicures and pedicures. She’s very caring and personable. You’ll be treated like a queen. I’d highly recommend Top Coat Nail bar to the NoVA ladies.
