I’ve been going to Tip Top for years – it’s fairly priced. However, they are extremely hit or miss. I’ve never gotten a stellar manicure there, but some girls are way better than others. They usually do a nice job with acrylics, but I just had the worst gel manicure that I’ve ever had from them. The woman doing them didn’t shape my nails at all and barely even filed them or pushed back my cuticles. The tips of my nails have barely any polish on them so they look transparent. I could have done a better job myself if I had the tools to do so. I’m going to shop around for a new salon, but if you just need a quick and affordable regular manicure they are a good place to try.

They never honor a reservation. In my experience, they accept reservations so you will come in but consistently take other clients ahead of you anyway and make you wait 15 minutes.

This salon is very clean and professional. During the pandemic, they have not been busy. The staff is only working part-time now, and it must be very difficult for them, but they are still cheerful and pleasant to the customers. I have been tipping more generously and hope others have too.

I have been there two times, once for a pedicure another for a manicure. The minute I got home I saw that my pedicure looked like it had already ‘grown out’ ( i didn’t have my glasses on at the salon so wasn’t sure). The pedicure lasted maximum 5 days before it looked like it needed to be redone. Same thing with the manicure but that only lasted 2 days!!! before it started chipping off. They didn’t wait between coats, took less than 5 minutes for her to do the whole thing! I won’t ever waste my time or money there again!

First time to this salon, as an “Out of Towner” I was happy they took walk ins. I was seated as quickly as possible on Eve of Christmas Eve. I liked that she opened up a sterilized set of tools and the hot towel warmer. I opted for the massage add on since I saw other women loving it and it was fabulous. I really liked my schellac manicure and massage, so it’s unfortunate to see other negative reviews on here. The price is more than fair as well!

After several years living in Florida, I’ve replaced most of the CT services I loved, but I still haven’t found anyplace as good as Tip Top! Whenever I’m in town, it’s a must-have treat to go to Tip Top where they really get rid of calluses and give a great foot massage along with a lovely pedicure. Both my daughters (one in DC & one in Chicago) agree and neither have found a better place either. I even love the ambience of the orchids and water features.

HORRIBLE — It was rush hour on a Friday and snowing very badly here, I got a call last minute with an invite to an event and I HAD to get my UV gel’s redone. My amazing, “Go-To” place (Dash Nails) is a highway drive away and there was no way I could make it there and back in the bad weather. Tip-Top nails is on the way back to my house from work.
