I visited the salon to see what she could do for me style wise because I suffer from alopecia, and I have some spots (some worse than others). I didn’t want weave or to straighten my hair; I wanted to wear it in it’s natural state. I used to have a boy cut, by I grew it out to a pretty good length in hopes of being able to get some type of style. We came to the conclusion that there wasn’t going to be a style to cover the spots because the only thing to do was 2 strand twist or coils. I liked my boy cut, so I showed her like 10 pictures and asked if she could do it. I told her to make sure she leaves enough in the top to cover my spots. She cut all of my hair off and did a terrible job at that. She didn’t leave me any hair to cover my spots. I was mortified. All she kept saying was that it looked shorter in the picture. But my thing is I told you I needed hair to cover the spot. As a stylist, you should know how to do this, especially since you said you could. To top it off she is a hair loss specialist. I don’t have to have or want long hair, but I also don’t want my spots showing. I feel like she didn’t listen to me at all. I am utterly devastated. I have never had a bad hair experience, and this put me in tears for nearly an hour. I beg stylist that if you don’t know how to do something, just say that. Especially when it comes to cutting people’s hair. Nothing can bring my hair back but time, and my hair doesn’t grow super fast.
