I got my haircut by Clinton AKA Shaq , I told him not to cut my hair down and he cut all of my hair off anyway . This was my first time going to this barbershop. He thinks he can do whatever he wants because he’s the owners son. I would not recommend this place just another barbershop passive aggressive disrespectful barbers.

So my son has had his hair cut at the Crain Highway location at least 5 times. Today when we went in (I make an appointment prior online with the exact barber that told me the last time that he doesn’t do shape ups), and because he doesn’t do them he charged me $25 , then asked for a tip.. Now online on their site you can choose a barber and it doesn’t say what each barber does specifically or how much they charge ( the prices are rated based on what the customer is getting done. Therefore, the barbers that work for the company cannot make up their own prices). That barber (the same guy that charged me $25 plus the first time, was under the impression that he would get more and make up his own fee during our second encounter. I told him I was only paying what was quoted $12 for a shape up, no more. Then he tells me,

Sent my teenager in for a cut with Kenneth scheduled online. This is right down the street and I couldn’t stop working to drive him to his usual spot (BTB). Did he come out looking fresh? Yes. Did the barber cut 6 inches (literally) off his fro when he only asked for a trim that left his hair long and a taper? Yes. My kid has the straightest forehead line, you almost don’t have to do anything. Well that is crooked and the temples are shaved about 3/4 of an inch past his hairline. Luckily his hair grows fast but dang!

Brandy Turner is a Lead Stylist with an impeccable chair-side manner, gives a therapeutic shampoo, and styled my hair perfectly. I love tighten up my Husband and Son are customers of the barbers. I’m always very impressed with their tight cuts perfect ! And I have loc’s and my stylist Tracy is exceptional never a disappointment! Gucci the Receptionist is always very friendly she is very excellent stylist as well. I feel so comfortable there and they are always so friendly and personable. I can also testify that my stylist Tracy and my Husband’s barber James G.always keep in contact if there is ever a time that our scheduled appointment can’t be kept. Great communication, professionalism, comfort, and cleanliness are assets that are very important to me and Tighten Up, supplies all my family hair care needs ! ❤️

Everyone I visit, I get exactly what I came for… a sharp cut, good banter, and a comfortable environment. I don’t bother with setting appointments (though you should, it’s a popular place in the community), because every barber in the building knows how to cut… good.
