Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, QualityI’ve lived in and around the DMV most of my life. So I’ve been to most of the high end hair salons at this point. If I ever went to one more regularly, it was mostly just out of convenience. I cannot say I ever previously *loved* a hairstylist. Now, I’ll go out of my way to make sure it’s Cara that cuts my hair. I’ve been trying to grow my hair out for years. It’s only Cara that pays attention to this, making sure I do the proper home-care to keep the integrity and health of my hair in tact, while cutting and styling what makes sense. She takes the time to hear my goals and ~actually~ executes them. Her clients book her out pretty far, so I make sure my next appointments are booked after every time I see her, and that I have all the hair care that I need until I see her again!I’m in a client-facing career and am constantly getting compliments on my hair, the length, and the health of it. At 32, this is the happiest that I’ve ever been with my hair.(She also helped me recover from the quarantines bangs that I gave myself. Not my proudest moment.)The studio is very clean and cute. Luxury boutique vibes. All of the staff and assistants are super warm and sweet. Waking me to my seat, asking if they can hang my jacket, get me anything while I wait.-edit-I saw the negative review that Cara had gotten. As someone who is in a client-facing industry, “firing clients” is a very real thing. Every business has clauses built in to have the right to refuse service. If someone does not show to an appointment multiple times, that is critical loss of income. Enough reason for me to speak to the client and potentially suggest another provider alone. If, on top of being late/ no-showing me, a client continued to ask for a discount on my services provided, I would be offended. I provide services with very transparent prices that are known before walking in the door— similar to Cara. This is how we make our living. It’s a two way street. You can’t expect someone to bend over backwards for you all of the time, when you don’t want to show up half the time AND don’t even want to pay the price of services. Frankly, the audacity to have those expectations and then to also write a negative review, solely because there were consequences to your actions, is what blows my mind. I fully support Cara’s decision and it makes me respect her even more that she enforces her professional boundaries. If you want a high-end treatment in a luxury boutique, be prepared for high-end/ luxury prices. (Although I think that they are very reasonable). It’s pretty simple. Life happens. I’ve no-showed Cara before and she was very understanding (after profusely apologizing) and helped me reschedule. If providers turn away paying clients, it’s for a reason. Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, QualityI love coming to the new salon and am so happy this team stuck together from PR Tysons (and that I can now avoid the mall/shopping every time I get my hair done).This review is long overdue, so I need some time to brag. Cara has been doing my hair for years. I have pretty consistently stuck with the same cut and color, but each appointment she takes the time out to be sure she understands what I want done. I think consistency can be more challenging than anything else, and Cara nails it every single time. She encourages me when I’m feeling something different and will only recommend what is safe and realistic for my hair. I know that she would never let me leave her chair until we are both completely satisfied, even if it means staying until 10pm. I love my signature blunt haircut, and regularly receive compliments from strangers and asked who cuts my hair. Well, here she is! I also have extensions for volume, which no one can ever tell because they are so well done. Cara takes her work and client satisfaction very seriously, which is really the most you could hope for!I saw someone posted a negative review after Cara wouldn’t do their hair, but I think it’s is so good (and rare) to find that someone is professional enough to tell a potential client they aren’t a good fit or won’t do just anything if it’s not in your best interest, just to take your money. I’ve recommended Cara to many people, and everyone leaves happy.From the front desk, to the assistants, to the salon manager Mary, this is really an A+ team. This is a beautiful small salon with lots of covid precaution (thank you), easy parking, calm environment. Best of all, Tatiana is magic with the scissors – she has done my hair and my teen’s hair just right every time. She takes a lot of time and attention to the details to make sure the hair will lay just right. Today she fixed up my teen’s grown-out pixie and created a funky, textured, cute layered short do that is just perfect. I came here because I liked Tatiana from her days across the way at the PR at Tysons. This is a beautiful small salon with lots of covid precaution (thank you), easy parking, calm environment. Best of all, Tatiana is magic with the scissors – she has done my hair and my teen’s hair just right every time. She takes a lot of time and attention to the details to make sure the hair will lay just right.
