Critical: ProfessionalismThe Strand has “walk-ins welcomed” posted on the door. Upon entering the business, I saw one person sitting in the salon chair. A receptionist came to the window and said, “Can I help you?” I asked for a “trim” (my hair is shoulder length & I requested a dry cut) no shampoo, no style. The receptionist yelled to someone in the back, the tone already told me I didn’t have a chance, “You got time for a trim?” The voice from the back replied, “No.” The receptionist look at me and said, “Sorry.” I was never asked or offered if there was another time that would work, nor was I thanked for stopping by. While the stylist may have a following, I would not recommend this business for any newcomer and definitely walk-ins are not welcomed – not because I couldn’t be fit into the schedule – but because of a lack of customer service, a lack of appreciation, and a dismissive approach to this customer.The Strand has “walk-ins welcomed” posted on the door.
