This is a super cuts reimaged to look like a neighborhood barbershop. I wanted to save some money, most shops charge more for a cut. This was cheaper but not by much. I regret going here. If your in San Rafael I suggest downtown barbers, cost more but worth it.

Came here when they first opened and they were great had great customer service even offered beers while you had a haircut. Sadly they don’t seem to care about the individual customer anymore . Made an appointment with Reena for 1:30 pm and when I showed up at 1:35 pm , I was told that I was more than 12 minutes late as they had wrote it down for 1:25pm I’m not sure if they rounded up and told me 1:30pm or what happened but 1:25 wasn’t the agreed upon time. Either way they didn’t care it was my problem and so I won’t go back to this establishment that doesn’t care about the individual. The prices have gotten out of hand as well they used to give a haircut for $25 I saw it Shoot up to $45 now it’s at $38 and the quality of haircut doesn’t justify the price. They lost a long time customer today but like I said they don’t care . Many other places to get a haircut in San Rafael with better ratings so I suggest you don’t waste your time here as I did waiting all day and being told the wrong time just to end up without a haircut.

Disappointing treatment by staff – I’ve been going to The Shop in San Rafael for years. I called today to make a same day appointment for this afternoon, which I have done dozens of times before. The receptionist and then manager told me they weren’t allowed to book out past two hours, which seems to be a new practice. I’d never heard of that 2 hour window before, and it isn’t on their website. Even though they admitted business was slow today, they refused to allow me to book a 2pm appointment (because it was beyond a 2 hour window). I explained that I’ve always been allowed to book a same-day afternoon appointment, and that 2pm was my only availability today due to child care issues. Their response was both rude and uncaring. I’m really disappointed that I won’t be using The Shop anymore because of this treatment.
