DO NOT waste your time or money here. I just want to warn and bring awareness to my unfavorable experience at The Powder Room. Not only did I receive very unprofessional and “mean girl” demeanor from most of the staff especially the owner herself, Linda, but also I’m highly unsatisfied with the quality and results from their work. I was referred this place by a friend, and so I decided to make an appointment with Ashley (Linda’s protege) on Wednesday (08/24/22) at 10am… So once I arrived Ashley took me to her chair I re-informed her of my request which was to add in highlights at the crown of my head, so my roots could blend in with my grown out and previous blonde I had in my entire hair. Once she began the process putting on the foil, she then took me to the rinse out bowl which I laid there for over 2 hours, and I told her about the discomfort I was experiencing on my neck from laying down, but she didn’t seem to care or even fix the problem I was experiencing. In the meantime while Ashley had many other clients she was consolidating between, and every single one of them she was focusing on were able to get in and out of the salon within a timely manner while I was still laying there. So then, a girl named Shelby finally rinses me out and takes me to the “wooden bar” where Ashley would meet me to put toner in my hair. Ashley was not present so again I just sat and waited there for so long that Shelby decided to help out again which I thanked her numerous times because she was giving me the most care and attention. So Shelby sectioned off my hair for Ashley to begin the toner process. Then Ashley evaluated my hair and again needed some assistance from Linda…. So Ashley asked Linda since there’s different colors could she put the one toner that she was putting on the top of my hair, could she also put it on the bottom of my hair so my entire head could be all one and thorough. However, Linda responded with a very condescending message basically insinuating that my previous hair color was not their mess to fix so to not even worry about putting anything on the grown out blonde of my older hair. So she told Ashley if I wanted to have the extra toner, it would be an additional 30 which I didn’t mind. From the results of my hair at that point, I clarified that I didn’t want three different colors in my hair so I requested to replace my blow out charge with the second toner charge. AGAIN, she began the toning process and took me to the rinse out bowl and she calls Linda for help because she stated that she sees orange and green colors in my hair which I was already freaking out about because her and Linda didn’t seem to know what was resulting from my hair. At this point it was 3:30 and I was so frustrated with the service and quality of the salon because I expected so much more and they didn’t seem to acknowledge me but again I’m just stating my own personal experience for having to pay $250+ for results that I absolutely hate.

I had the best experience at The Powder Room, being that it was my very 1st. time to ever do anything to my hair in 49 years! Gio, went over and beyond to make sure I was pleased with my new hair color. I highly recommend this place for 1st. timers, and if you are looking for excellent customer service, as well as attention to detail! I loved my experience at the Powder Room. My stylist name is Ashley & she made me feel super comfortable, she listened to exactly what I wanted & I loooooveeee the color we achieved. I’ve gotten soooo many compliments on my hair. She also gave me a cut exactly like the reference picture I showed her & styled it so pretty at the end! Linda has a solid team & all the girls are so good at what they do, I watched other clients getting their hair done around me & every stylist there did an amazing job. I also wanted to add that from the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed by her staff. Ashley wasn’t too pushy when it came to selling the products she used on me that day. I ended up leaving with a shampoo & conditioner anyway because I love supporting women-owned small businesses but & I needed a color treated shampoo/conditioner too but nonetheless I would definitely recommend going to this salon. I will definitely be returning. Ashley was amazing!

This was my first time seeing Araceli for a service. I am not happy with the way she did my hair. I showed her a reference photo, but my hair turned out nothing similar to the photo. I had to ask Linda if she could help her fix it. She then “fixed it” but when I got home I noticed it just looked orange. I told Araceli when I was in her chair that the color was fine, but as I looked at it more when I got home it was nothing like the picture I showed her. I previously had a balayage done about 3 months ago, so she decided to just foil my hair mainly the top section and leave alone the bottom section. After she finished bleaching my hair she did an all over toner. This made the bottom of my hair turned out black. Now I have my hair two different colors and it is more noticiable when I pick up my hair. I’m so unsatisfied with my service today. I hate to leave a bad review for her, but I’m just really disappointed with my outcome. She was a nice lady, but probably needs a little more practice with her techniques.

I just wanted to share my experience with the owner Linda Luna! She’s an amazing hair stylist & she mentor me a few months before going back to school. She’s truly amazing & does an amazing at her job! Her work tells it has it is! Disregard the bad reviews (which sounds like a hater), she does a hell of a job! Who would brag about their accomplishments in life?! I know I would! Everyone would. Besides that ; I came in with virgin hair, she made me look so good my hair was so blended throughout, my blonde was exactly what I needed in my life! She gave me the best textured haircut, with an amazing products in the wash house and styling products. So I HIGHLY recommend getting hair products and styling products! I even purchase a hair curler to give myself the best curls I can achieve!

Poor customer service. I put down an $80 deposit for the appointment. Come the day of the appointment, my car doesn’t start and I have no way of making it to the appointment. I call them to reschedule. They asked me to put down yet another $80 deposit. I asked if I could pay half the deposit this time, due to having to reschedule because of a my car and because they already had my $80. They responded to me saying “come back when you can pay the full deposit”. They refused to work with me in any way, after taking an $80 nonrefundable deposit. Had I gone through and rescheduled, I would have paid $80 for the first deposit, $80 for the 2nd deposit and probably around $150 for the hilights i wanted. That comes out to $310 spent. At least I only spent $80 for the poor service.

This was my 1st time coming to the Salon and I was super nervous trying out someone new. Linda was my stylist and she definitely did not disappoint. She did exactly what I wanted and was very thorough. She is amazing! I loved the vibes and the receptionist was hilarious, not that it mattered but was entertaining lol. It was worth the drive from Austin and will definitely be back!
