This place is a scam. I went online to book and was having issues booking online. The appointment available online was at 10:10 AM. When I called the lady on the phone informed that the 10:10 AM slot was taken however a 10:30 appointment was available and I confirmed that 10:30 would work. She instructed me to send a deposit via cash app which I did. She then sends me a text saying the appointment isn’t available and there is no availability lol She did end up sending my deposit back but be careful here. Her communication was shady and seemed off. Based on the previous review of a stylist detangling natural hair with a fine tooth comb I believe I dodged a bullet.

My experience was okay. I came in for a blow dry and trim. I’m also almost positive that the stylist didn’t apply a heat protectant before blow drying my hair. I’ll admit I didn’t speak up and say anything but I just thought it was common sense for a place that calls themselves a “natural hair salon”. That’s the only reason for the three stars. Otherwise it would’ve been 5 stars because my blow dry came out nice and I love that she didn’t trim too much off. She also thoroughly oiled my scalp and gave me a massage.

I wish I didn’t have to write this review for SO many reasons, but if it helps others avoid the terrible experience I had, I gotta say something. I would STRONGLY advise you to think twice about getting your loose natural hair done here. I can’t speak to any of their other services, but I went in for a wash, condition, blow dry, and trim yesterday and felt IMMEDIATELY that the woman who was doing my hair had never truly handled loose natural hair before. She did not add any water to my 4a/4b hair during the detangling process and on numerous occasions used a fine toothed comb to comb my hair. In addition to suffering from extreme heat damage, my hair was trimmed so horribly that I literally cannot wear it in any loose style and now have to try to cut it into some shape that is more presentable. If I was someone who was more attached to my hair, this experience would have been TRAUMATIC. Hope no one has to go through what I’ve gone through.

I had a wonderful experience with Toya! She takes her time to wash and condition your hair and carefully detangles your hair. I didn’t feel any pain.
