Critical: Punctuality, Quality, ValueI tried this nail salon last week bc I moved a few months ago and was looking for a place closer to my new house. This place is literally 4 minutes away and seemed to have good reviews, so I was really hoping it would work out. But, it did not.Long Appointment TimeI had an appointment and got started right away. The appointment took 2 hours – for a basic pedicure and gel mani. I’ve been getting my nails done 2x/month for years and have never had an appointment take so long- my typical appointment is about 1 hour. The nail tech was very very slow, kep checking her phone, and instead of saving time by soaking my gel nails during my pedicure, did it when the pedi was finished (which is what all the other salons have done). So, while my nails soaked, I sat there, in silence, no tv, no music for 25 minutes.Poor QualityI figured if my man/pedi took 2 hours, my nails would look fabulous, but that was unfortunately not the case. As you can see in my pics the gel polish started chipping the next day (these pics are 2 days after my service). I’m very gentle with my nails – most gel polish doesn’t chip on me, and I only get nails re-done after 2 1/2-3 weeks because the polish has grown out. Im extremely disappointed in this part of it. I was trying to figure that if my appointment took 2 hours, that the nail polish would at least stay on for a few days! Also, the polish has lumps in it- you cant really see it in the pictures, but it is very visible on both of my thumb nails.I had to ask the nail tech to take the tool to scrap dead skin under my toe nails and to remove the ingrown nails that form on big toes- she “tried” but didn’t get them. I just got my nails done at another place 2 weeks prior, I know my nails weren’t ingrown terribly, they just needed a little love.She did no cutting around of my nails/cuticles – and you can see the dead skin in the pics. Basically both services were just a polish change with some lotion applied at the end.PriceAll this, and the place is about $10 more expensive than other salons I’ve been to in the area (plus they charged me for gel removal -I’ve never been charged that at any other salons).Just like any salon, I know the actual service and quality is dependent on the tech you see, so others may have a completely different experience. The salon was clean, but I just don’t have time to try this place out again. Positive: Cleanliness, ProfessionalismI am so impressed with this salon. The staff is awesome, professional, and very qualified for what they do!! They guide you and inform you of what is needed if you need assistance. The price is perfect, in fact shockingly fair for the top notch quality of work. So tip big they deserve it!!! If you’re into nail art (like me) don’t look any further this is place to go!!! They can pull off skillful art!
