I’ve been going to Christy Evans for a year for hair extensions and color and couldn’t be happier. The salon is beautiful, there are snacks, a fridge full of drinks and an espresso machine! Right in Carytown, but always plenty of parking out front. And wait until you see the bathroom! Everyone is warm and welcoming and it’s a fun and relaxing place to get your hair done.

I first found The Modern Diosa while walking through Carytown and saw the sign for extensions and hair loss. Having trichotillomania (hair pulling disorder), I immediately was interested because my hair is extremely thin. I set up a consultation with Christy Evans and was welcomed as soon as I walked in the door. She explained the extension process in an easy way for me to understand. When I came back in to get my extensions I was beyond nervous but instantly relieved because Christy is the best and made sure I was comfortable the entire time! So far I am loving my extensions and thankful for Christy and Welsy for making my experience so delightful!

This review is regarding hair extensions and permanent hair straightening. First, the hair extensions are perfection. Welsey is a master at color matching, blending, and placement of hair extensions. ALL of these skills are VITAL for hair extensions. I have been wearing hair extensions off and on for the past 11 years. I have historically used individual bonded hair extension. Here they use Natural Beaded Rows (NBR) hair extensions. I was nervous at first because I thought they would be difficult to hide and would not blend well with my natural hair. To my extreme delight these blend perfectly. I found it very easy to transition from individual bonded hair extensions to NBR. I have very fine, formerly frizzy, thin hair and NO ONE knows that I have hair extensions. Now, on to the permanent hair straightening and my formerly frizzy hair. The product is called Qiqi and it permanently straightens and defrizzes the hair. Again, I HAD fine, thin, and frizzy hair. It is still fine and thin, but now it is silky smooth. In full disclosure, I used to spend a lot of time making sure my hair was not frizzy (only have the humidity destroy it) and now I spend time giving it texture to hold the wavy curls. The latter is far better because humidity can no longer cause the dreaded frizz to pop back up. I will say that I have traded one set of hair drama for another. I used to have hair that could hold every bobby pin in the pack and now I have hair that needs every bobby pin in the pack lol. Again, silk smooth hair that’s easy to style and easy to let air dry all minus the fizz is a far better option for me personally. Bottom line, just come here and see Welsey if you want expert hair color, seamless extensions, and frizz free hair.
