I had a fantastic experience with Charmaine Dolls (check out her Instagram!!). She was very professional and experienced. Switching to a new hair salon is always sooo scary because you don’t know if you’ll find someone you love! You put a lot of trust into them. The second I sat in Charmaine’s chair I knew I was in good hands. She used all the reference photos I sent her prior and the day off. It was so easy to communicate with her and I was never afraid to explain what my expectations were. Let’s just say she went above and beyond to get the perfect look I wanted it!! I am so happy I went with her and will absolutely be returning.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. See my current hair conditions before getting your hair done by Anna at The Lox. My hair was highly over processed and no apology was ever given or an admission of screwing up. It was my hair’s fault because I am “Hispanic which makes your hair lighten quicker”. Well if that’s the case- as the stylist shouldn’t you remove the bleach sooner, constantly monitor my hair, or advise we do multiple sessions to prevent damage from happening? When I looked at my Venmo receipts and time spent in the chair, I had bleach in for over 3 hours! Shame on me for trusting her as the professional to do a quality job when I could have burnt my hair on my own using YouTube. I originally said I loved my hair leaving the salon before I showered and realized how severely damaged it is. I wish I had never gone here because now I have to deal with a tangled, damaged, and frustrating mess EVERY TIME I get my hair wet. Surfing? Paddle boarding? Snorkeling? Diving? Beach day with friends? Showering? All the above! To think my unmanageable hair costed me $250 is really a joke. My hair was so bad after the bleach and toner were rinsed out that Anna had to blow dry, straighten, THEN curl my hair to give the illusion it was ok when I left. I know balayage inevitably comes with damage but this is going to take a year to grow out. Why Courtney, the manager, would allow anyone with these “skills” to work at her salon is beyond me. Buyers beware.
