Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueThis place is literally down the street from me I was going elsewhere and very infrequently because of the cost and the stress involved walking in.My barber would take a walk-in 5 minutes before my appointment and guess who got stuck waiting? Add in the new post-Corona price, I knew I was done.The Gifted Cutters BarbershopI read the reviews and I also read “through”them and decided that you cannot keep everyone happy and to try my luck.First, Robert works off of appointments, he has been around a long time and decided letting people “walk-in” and making a scheduled appointment have to wait because of greed, was not how he wanted to operate his shop and I for one love that idea. So, I called way too early, (7am) and he called me back at around 10am letting me know I can come in at 11am. I walked over there and was greeted by someone I already knew I’d like.He was wearing a mask that was uncomfortable for him to wear, but he wore it the entire time. I told him a little about myself and what I wanted. I told him to do what he wants which coincidentally was exactly what I wanted as well!He did an amazing job and I felt more than comfortable being there. He does not permit swearing in his business because, well because there is no need for that in a public environment that also could have women and children. So if you are looking only for a place to cut up and joke hours at a time using profanity, it is not here.It is a barbershop.It is professional with a personal touch, Robert has AMAZING stories about his life that I found very, very interesting and similar to mine.I highly recommend his shop if you are looking for a sweet, fast, perfect cut along with some awesome conversation at an awesome price.If you are looking for a place to tolerate an idiot attitude and get your cut anytime, this is not it.An amazing barber with amazing talent (ton of experience) at an amazing price right here in awesome Garwood. Critical: Professionalism, PunctualityMy first time there and my last. Wanting to help support local business I went for a haircut there and all I got was patronised. I called ahead to see if they were busy, they said there was an opening in 15 minutes. On the phone I told them I may or may not be able to make it but I’ll stop by. When I get there there is not a single person in the shop other than what seems to be the owner, not only does he refuse to cut my hair but the whole interaction was unpleasant and uncomfortable. He says it was because I didn’t have an appointment even though I called ahead and he said he had an opening in 15 minutes and I was there 10 minutes early. I did not feel welcome in the store especially when after saying no haircut to me he starts walking closer and closer to me until I am practically pushed out the. Never again will I try to give this barbershop any business and I strongly recommend anyone considering it to check out the wide array of other options Cranford and the surrounding towns have to offer. After having this patronizing encounterI decided to go to Cranford Barber shop instead where I received an excellent haircut excellent service for a very reasonable price. My first time there and my last. Wanting to help support local business I went for a haircut there and all I got was patronised.
