If you have 60 to 90 minutes free time to wait in the Barbershop, and it doesn’t really matter to you if you ever actually get a haircut, then this is the best place in Ashland for a haircut. If your time is important to you, you would be better served making an appointment at Prestige Barbershop where you can get a great haircut and shave, with no waiting required. Stopped going here a long time ago and have no regrets.

Makayla was single-handedly managing the shop alone in a busy Saturday afternoon. Shop has a strict walk in only policy on Fridays and Saturdays so patrons are expected to wait and I had no problem waiting. I initially went in just for side/back shave but after seeing a few fantastic haircuts (and mind you, she didn’t take long on each cut- she just knows how to give great and fast haircuts), I changed my mind and requested to get a whole haircut. She said she’s been constantly working since 9 am today with no break and it was past 1pm already yet she took care of each customer as if they’re her first haircut of the day. During my cut, a customer walked in and insisted her to do a flattop and he even berated her after she told him she didn’t do flattops (it’s a specialty of other barbers and Makayla even checked and offered the earliest appointment available). Makayla was so kind and patient even when he kept saying she could start a flattop because it must not be that hard and the other barber could finish it next week. Eventually his friend came in and convinced him to stick with the appointment for next week and left. Business staff should never have to tolerate this type of customer abuse. Anyways even she was interrupted during my cut, she did a fantastic job. I’ll definitely return.

I only ever get my hair cut here. It’s a great family owned business and I’ve never had a problem with either the customers or the employees. Even when I’ve been getting the same hair cut forever and decided to change it I didn’t walk out feeling like I made the wrong decision, they do everything the way you tell them to. I only suggest this place to my friends when the need a quick cut.

Sometimes appointments, sometimes walk-in only, it’s tough to keep track as a customer. Unless you have a ton of time and are ready to get turned down, id recommend a more reliable shop, there are many around Ashland.

The Flat Top in my go-to barbershop in Ashland. I’ve been getting my hair cut there for years. Chris (the owner) is friendly and always has something interesting to say. Haircuts are consistent and reasonably priced. Whenever I leave the Rogue valley and move somewhere else, I struggle to find barbershops I like as much as the Flat Top.

I have been going to Flat top for over 15 years. I started bringing my son with me to get his haircut as soon as he was old enough. That was 7 years ago. Although the OG, Mike, has retired, his son has taken up the shears in excellent fashion. I hope he keeps it open because we love it.

A father and son owned traditional barber shop that will still get your modern style up and going or cleaned up if needed. Can get crowded albebit for good reason – these guys do a great job and have created a cool atmosphere.

I tool my 2.5 year old son here for his first hair cut today. I was worried, because on top of being a 2 year old, he also has Autism spectrum disorder and typically won’t let anyone near his head.. But Mike at Flat Top was AMAZING with him and his hair looks perfect! He gave the exact cut I wanted and was so patient and just great in general. They just won our loyalty. He even gave us a “First Haircut” certificate with a lick of hair taped to it to celebrate the occasion, too cool!
