Critical: ProfessionalismSupport staff is so abrasive and condescending that although my brows never look better than when Karen does them I will never go back.It began when I called to confirm my appointment and front desk sighed as if I was bothering her.When I was paying I wanted to use my debit card to pay the tip. I asked for $20 and was told I can only give you 20% “that’s what’s customary “. I replied that I understood but I would like to give her more. No she said again $5 would be a customary tip. If we did that for ever one we would have no money left in the draw. I told her I understood but I was the last customer. I had a spray tan with Kathy this morning. She was very professional and knowledgeable. I hadn’t had a tan in a while so I was a little nervous that it’d be streaky or orange. I’m half Irish so needless to say, I have pretty fair skin. Kathy was very meticulous and the results show!! Only after a few hours, I already have a healthy, even glow. 5 stars, and I will definitely be returning to see her again

Had a gift card for for The Spirit Lifter given to me by my husband for a Valentine gift several years ago (date issue 2-13-10). So I call and explained to women on phone that I had a gift card for The Spirit Lifter which was for facial, massage and manicure which they no longer had that package but would honor the price and credit toward another service. I went for facial today and after service I presented the gift care and was informed not valid expired after 7 years. So a gift card worth $150 was not honored no even a fraction and I paid $87 dollars for a facial I had today along with $20 dollar tip–yes that is a total of $257 dollars (The women for facial was very nice) The reason I booked this service was due to the gift card and I had called to make this and explained about the gift card. NOT a good way to do business. For mother’s day I recommend to husbands and children just take your mom out and treat her our lives are so busy at times we forget to treat ourselves and do not use our gift cards—I know I don’t. So today was not a relaxing experience as it should have been. It is actually upsetting!

Jenny is the best massage therapist hands down on the South Shore. I’ve been searching to a serious deep tissue massage for sports related pain and she was the only therapist able to relieve my lower back pain. She has a calm presence and your worries will melt away.

To start off, the face place is a very nice spa. Very clean, very relaxing. I have been to this place a handful of times only because a relative of mine goes there and loves it so much and asked me to join her. For the most part, all my mani’s & Pedi’s were great except for one time. My cousin sat down first to start her French mani and I sat down shortly after. It was so rushed and the lady had me out of her seat within 20 minutes tops. She was very pleasant and nice to chat with but quickly rushed my manicure and needless to say I wasn’t impressed with the end result. It was very messy and to be honest my 10 year old son could’ve done a better job. I expressed my concerns with a nice lady at the front desk and asked if maybe I could get it redone by someone else another time because I didn’t want to hurt her feelings and what not. She said yes, not a problem and went ahead and booked me an appt for a later date. We came back a few weeks later. once again, my cousin was taken right in and started her manicure while I sat in their waiting area the entire time waiting for the lady to start on me. My cousin was done with her manicure as I’m still waiting for the lady to take me. So a different lady I’d never dealt with before at the front desk stood up and said “she’s going to be a bit longer, can you wait?” mind you i had been sitting there for a good 25 minutes and I said no, I had an appt and already have plans for after I left. she shrugged her shoulders, gave this snarly look and a very insincere “sorry”. So I left without getting my manicure they had promised me. I wasn’t very happy but got over it. So I received 2 gift cards for my birthday back in July, one for $40 from my friend and one for $50 from my cousin that I normally go with. So I made and appt for me and my other cousin that had never gone there before for a mani/pedi. The two girls we had were excellent, Sara and Heung. They do an immaculate job and make you feel very comfortable and welcomed. I went to use my gift cards. One went right through and the other didn’t. the lady made me feel like I had like stolen the gift card or something, like I was being patronized? I don’t know, it was strange and very uncomfortable. So she looked it up in her computer under my maiden name, and in the mean time told me that they re-use their gift cards, and it was under another persons name. She had asked me if I knew who so and so was, and I said no, and had no idea what she was talking about. She then found it in the computer after long awaited searching. Why would it be in my name for a gift card… I don’t know? Regardless, I paid and we went on our way. Well, about 2 hours later I get a call from this unpleasant lady I had dealt with and proceeded to tell me that she made a mistake and hadn’t looked up the transaction right, blah blah blah. “you owe me $50″ she says. I laugh at her because I had these cards given to me for my b-day and she’s making me feel bad for using them. I said, It feels like there is always a problem when I come in there lately and she says to me ” YEA, you have history..”

Uuuuuuuuggggghhhhhh whyyyyyyyyyyyy ???? I had had such a good experience there my first time around for a pedicure I was excited to go back for a massage and full leg wax before a vacation. The massage was great but the wax was TERRIBLE !!! Ok, waxing hurts in general but when you go through a bunch of discomfort with no result uuuuuuugggggghhhh. I am not hairy by nature but without getting into detail, the employee (very nice) did an AWFUL job. I tried to contact the Face Place about the issue and was informed, by the owner, that there must be something wrong with me and that the presumed baby sounds in the background, on the phone, needed to be babysat so I could “get fixed up”. This was the owner…stating there was something wrong with my legs and that noises she heard needed a babysitter when I described my inability to just run down to her spa/den of waxing failure. Uuuuugggghhhhh so baaaaaad. #FAILURETOWAX
