The Defining Line Salon is an Aveda cutting & styling salon established in 2006. We are all about snipping, clipping, sculpting, texture, and personalizing shapes of every kind to fit your personal style . We also stock some bomb fan fave treatments & products that keep your hair & scalp tip top. We are located between Lindsay blvd and River Parkway with parking in the front and back. We have great neighbors who offer amazing food, shopping, and inspiration. We refer all of our color loving clients over to our next door neighbors, the Aveda colorists at “MAE Wellness Cafe & Beauty Bar”. Come a little early for their express spa menu, or book a color after your haircut. Psssst, we even share an app. with them for booking ease!

This place is NOT a salon. To begin with it was very dark inside, and the place was in disarray. The light was a garage type shop lamp perched precariously on a shelf above the mirror. I was completely blinded. Deborah consulted with me about how I wanted my haircut, and immediately began cutting it dry. No shampoo. She also kept running a flat iron over my hair without applying any heat protection beforehand. She finished cutting and proceeded to remove the cape. She asked how I liked it, but to be honest I really couldn’t see. She declared I was finished. No shampoo, no blowout, no style. $59!!! I left with the dirty hair I came in with, and had to go home to wash and style my hair myself. And that is impossible because the haircut is the WORST I have ever had. I should have left when I saw the condition of the shop, and never let my hair be touched by Deborah.

It was such a pleasure meeting Amy! I travelled into Idaho Falls from Chicago for my son’s wedding, and knew I’d need someone to style my hair on the big day. I booked Amy ahead of time entirely from previous glowing reviews, and they were so right. One quick look at the single picture I brought and bam — I walked out 90 minutes later gorgeous! And that style lasted 16 full, dance-filled hours to boot. Five stars!!! Thank you, Amy, for helping me be photo-ready all day long.

Great haircut for my natural curls. My hair lays so nicely I don’t even feel a rush to style it after I wash it because it just frames my face so perfectly. The angles in the back are also very attractive even when my hair is wet. It’s been ten years or more since I’ve been able to say as much.
