If I could give this place 0 stars, especially the stylist Micaela, I would. This salon has no concept of customer service. I had an appointment booked for an overall color and I had previously booked with her multiple times. Due to an emergency, I was running late. I didn’t have access to my phone but I borrowed someone’s to leave the salon a message because I was worried that poor Micaela would think I’d no-called no-showed. Yes I said leave a message because their answering machine said that until 2:30pm they wouldn’t have anyone available. I wasn’t even late yet just running behind! As soon as I was able to (at this point only 2 minutes late) I rushed there. While I was one block away from the salon, I received a phone call from the receptionist who told me that while I would not be charged a fee, they would be canceling the appointment because Micaela was too closely booked. Clearly not my problem. I told her how close by I was and that I would be less than 10 minutes late. She told me that didn’t matter. Really? Less than 10 minutes late due to an emergency with sufficient notice and that’s worth canceling an entire booking and losing over $100? My my how nice it must be to be a “small business” like The Collective.

This salon is the best in Birmingham. I have been in chairs all over the world and I always feel the best at the collective! I have platinum that ombrés into bubblegum pink and they are so talented at their craft. Fashion colors that last and look good are hard to get done but the collective always has me looking runway ready. Their staff is so friendly and kind, I always feel at home here! Fair pricing and great products, 10/10 would recommend!

The Collective is a great space and Kizzie is an absolute artist! I have been going to her every few weeks for over a year and she is constantly exceeding my expectations. I briefly mentioned struggling with finding hair products that work for me. Kizzie took the time to educate me on what my hair needs and introduced me to a few products that changed the GAME. I highly, highly recommend booking her.

Extremely clean !! They follow strick covid guidelines so I feel so comfortable going. Everyone is so friendly and helpful! Beth the owner does my hair and she does a phenomenal job !! My hair has never looked this good!! You should definitely make a appointment they offer it all even cuts for curly hair! It’s very spacious and welcoming !!
