I found her almost three years ago and I have not had a better braiding experience since. She is my go to for protective braid styles. I am also a bit tender headed and I never worry when I come to see her. She is gentle on the scalp and my head is never sore. I absolutely love the work of Ekua. She is a brilliant braid stylist. I found her almost three years ago and I have not had a better braiding experience since. She is my go to for protective braid styles. I am also a bit tender headed and I never worry when I come to see her. She is gentle on the scalp and my head is never sore. I did not feel any pain throughout the hours it took to achieve the look I requested. I felt comfortable the entire time; she was conversational and had great music flowing. From start to finish, I found that she was thoughtful kind, understanding, professional and super skilled. When I didn’t have the chance to bring braiding hair to my service, Ekua had the hair waiting on me at the beauty supply store across the street. My knotless braids were consistently done with a very gentle touch, and not too tightly or heavily. She made sure they were styled to perfection (oiled, razor cut, edges as client preferred) once finished. And super important to me as someone who is doing everything possible to prevent COVID-19 – I was relieved to find that this salon actually practiced the policies listed on the website and more (mask wearing throughout the service and hand sanitizer and a Clorox wipe provided on entry). From start to finish, I found that she was thoughtful kind, understanding, professional and super skilled.
