Thanks to Mrs Keisha (Manager) at Braidbar South for creating an Awesome atmosphere this morning. Just listening to how she answered the phone, her energy was very pleasant. Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueI like the fact that as soon as I booked, which was early that morning when I got off work the fact that I was contacted like 45mins later about booking and my deposit, that was a plus for me! I like the fact that as soon as I booked, which was early that morning when I got off work the fact that I was contacted like 45mins later about booking and my deposit, that was a plus for me! When I got there JOYA whom I booked was ready to get started, her booth/suite was clean, and even though I’m pretty sure we’re around the same age she referred to me as ma’am, meaning she has respect, the vibe was cool, my braids are lovely, I’m booking her for my birthday style and my Thanksgiving style as well….I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER AND BRAID BAR SOUTH

Critical: Professionalism, ValueI am not happy about writing this poor review today. My daughter & I have been faithful Braid Bar clients for 5+ years (partially Decatur location & for about a year, Braid Bar South for convenience). On 9/18/2021, my daughter & her desired hairstyle; lemonade braids (a common hairstyle to braiders in Atlanta) were placed on the check-in list 3+ hours before she was called to start service. Once we were in to start her service (about 5pm), the braider greeted me w/ “I’m telling you now that I already told them that I don’t know how to do lemonades. I can do them, but they probably won’t look good.”, still management encouraged her to give my daughter a style that the braider wasn’t confident in. Another braider also said that the braider was not skilled in this style. To ensure the quality that I was paying for, I was a team player & changed the style at the last minute to one the braider was comfortable doing while most of the other braiders were leaving for the day. I did appreciate the transparency of the braider, but I come to this salon for braid styles b/c I know that the ending result is usually exactly what I want & the braiders are skilled in all of the trendier styles. My daughter was not happy b/c she had her heart set on one style & I just knew she was going to get it. She ended up getting a basic hairstyle that I could have gotten ANYWHERE. That option was taken away from me b/c no one informed me that there was an unskilled braider on staff in almost 4 hours. I paid full price for a style that I didn’t come for, nor was the quality fit. The manager or receptionist (Des) had zero explanation for me except a cocky head nod & a break down of $100 for me to pay (rude or just unknowledgeable on how to conduct business). I at least expected her to tell me their policy. As a business owner, that is all BAD BUSINESS. I am a customer who PAYS for ANY service that I want regardless of prices & I tip big, but what’s right is right. Today, I have made the decision to give a braider outside of Braid Bar my good business after years of service. Thank you for our many hairstyles & thank you to the braiders who were always kind & professional.Look at pictures to see what was paid for ($100). Not sure why the ponytail is so long when her I gave the stylist a desired length (short for a natural look). I didn’t get a chance to inspect that part of her style, respecting their new covid-19 precautionary measures (no parents inside but, literally no one had on a mask. Only my child & I regardless of the “mask required” signs. I guess that policy is for legal purposes only). I was scammed.I am not happy about writing this poor review today. My daughter & I have been faithful Braid Bar clients for 5+ years (partially Decatur location & for about a year, Braid Bar South for convenience). However, I’d recommend if they are going to have someone at the front desk they need to be presentable because they are a reflection of the business! Very unprofessional and poorly dressed. The braider kept pulling my hair while braiding after I requested not to several times. Before she was half way finished the lady at the front desk asked for me to pay cash 200.00. I could not wait for her to finish so I could leave, I left my bags of hair there, Not even 10 mins later I called and the lady at front desk said it was thrown away perfectly good bags of unopened hair. (go figure). The best way to deal with a place like this is not support and spend money elsewhere!! When I got home I noticed the braiding was not the best and I actually have hair from another row braided to another row. Which means this person did not take pride in her work.I would like to add the lady that took my hair down and washed it was friendly and did a great job.I was excited to support a local Minority place. I brought my daughters into the salon on Sunday and Shay and Tynia took very good care of them. They went out of their way to accommodate my daughters hair. 1 of my daughters washed her own hair at home and a loc was formed but Danielle and A young lady named Leah they handled it with ease Even down to the receptionist Des they really helped me. From the customer service to the prices and the execution of the styles I am very pleased. I will definitely be using this Salon in the future.
