Carla was my stylist and she did a great job! She gave me exactly what I wanted and my haircut and style came out great. She is also super cool to talk to and very down to earth. Jessica, the owner was very kind and her salon is so cute! Its great to find a salon like the Beauty Lab in the Sylmar area. Critical: Professionalism, PunctualityI was excited to recommend this salon to my mother after seeing the amazing review, however the experience was the complete opposite. Upon booking the appointment I asked the receptionist if the stylist spoke Spanish because that is my mothers primary language and they assured me did. When my mother went to her appointment with the stylist Carla, she saw that she wasn’t there but still decided to wait for her despite the late arrival. When Carla arrived my mother was met with ambushing, she was told that she required additional services and if she didn’t want them then she wouldn’t be able to get her haircut. Keep in mind when booking the appointment I made it clear that it was for a simple women’s haircut. Then Carla made it clear that it was my mothers fault for not speaking English despite the establishment advertising the fact that the salon is Latinx-owned and Spanish speaking.
