Worst experience ever. I went there with my two kids. The Barber was very rude and impolite. Started using really bad words my kids never heard. My advice? Pay Close Attention to the specifics of the one star reviews of this place. Contrast them with the exaggerated enthusiasm of the four store reviews, which are mostly based on experiences with good barbers who don’t even work here anymore, because they grew tired of the toxic atmosphere. This establishment likes to tout itself as modern and hip, with pumping hip-hop music and blaring television screens, with a “chill” vibe that seems to embrace its nightclub atmosphere over than that of a respectable barbershop. I have this wild idea that intoxicated drinking should be AFTER work and not DURING work, especially when you’re grooving to the beats with a razor or scissors in hand. Yes, they drink here. On the job. They don’t even try to hide it. They’ll even offer you one. Again that’s cool if it’s a nightclub, but what if — you know —you just want your hair cut or beard trimmed? This was only my third experience here today and it will be my last. The curt responses of staff and the specific rudeness I received from NICOLE (yeah, I dropped a name) today was so flabbergasting that I left in the middle and flipped the place a metaphorical finger when I was leaving. It was a blessing in disguise, as I was already on the fence about this joint. I don’t know about you guys, but when I’m looking for a haircut, I don’t need all the noise and bells and whistles The Bearded Man offers. I just need the simple things: a chair, a friendly barber with whom you can communicate, and pleasant customer service. I’m not getting those things at The Bearded Man. Sure I’m getting some Kendrick Lamar and a party atmosphere, but I’m getting it with personality cliques, attitude, and even a fair amount of gaslighting. So I’ve been coming here for over a year and here is how it goes when Steve or David cuts your hair (talking about Steve today). Great conversation, meticulous work and when he’s done you look in the mirror and say “nice, looks good”. Pay the man and give him a tip but it’s not over yet. You get home and take a look in the mirror to take a really good lol and it’s like “s$&@ that’s a hell of a haircut”. Seriously amazed every time these guys get to work. You guys rock!!!
