Literally did the opposite of what I asked, take a half inch off the sides and front inch and a half off the back; don’t mess with the thickness. Did the entire haircut with the layering blade, “Its faster and easier”. Even brought up the fact it looks like the length isn’t different at all, just offered to use the layering blade more. Didn’t touch a pair of scissors the entire time, so mad I’m sick.
