I sent my son for 2:00 appointment he waited over an hour then he left. When I called they actually tried to lie and said he was only there for 15 minutes. By the way my son is Caucasian which I think had a lot to do with it Yes I’m saying it prejudice.

Critical: PunctualityBefore I say anything. Want to point out they do wonderful hair but sometimes They over charged when the owner is not there my hair was mostly out the lady had probably a couple of braids to take out probably 12-15 they were already cut short it only would take 10-15 mins charged me 40 dollars to take it out and 200 for braids to my shoulder. 240 to much compared what I always get and the braids being longer and cheaper. But I now know only get my hair done when certain people here. Critical: QualityI went into this salon yesterday to get crotchet braids done. While the staff was nice, when I went home to style my hair My hair was not finished. The middle and back were not done, crotchets had already started to unravel and there was not a single way for me to style it cute and not show braids. Needless to say I have to take it down and find another salon. Very disappointed. I went into this salon yesterday to get crotchet braids done. While the staff was nice, when I went home to style my hair My hair was not finished. The middle and back were not done, crotchets had already started to unravel and there was not a single way for me to style it cute and not show braids. Needless to say I have to take it down and find another salon. Very disappointed. My experience was mostly disappointing. Whatever I say here likely isn’t going to change anything because Vineland does not have much to offer in terms of braiding salons for black women’s hair. I have stopped in a couple of times to check out the place and their prices. Hair salons tend to have hair all over the floor, that is to be expected. But not only was there hair all over the floor inside the salon but well into the hallway. As for the containers with the combs and barbicide, the blue liquid was ridiculously discolored suggesting it had not been changed in a very long time. The comb attachment on the blow dryer had lint stuck in the teeth that they did not bother to clean out before using on the next patron’s hair. If that weren’t egregious enough the prices are excessive and arbitrary. I showed pictures of potential styles that I wanted. I was quoted the exact same price for each (nearly $200!). I settled for gel twists for which I was quoted $80. As another patron was leaving I complimented her on her hair commenting she had the style I want it but that I did not have $200. She looked at me very confused, told me that is not what she was charged while one of the technicians, looking alarmed, jumped in and said that was not the correct price. I will drive to Philly next time if I must rather than feel like I am being taken advantage of in a filthy environment.

Lost 2 of my box braids before I even got home.My scalp was really sore.At 1st I thought it was the normal tightness in the beginning. By day 2 my scalp was red, hot and bumps starting appearing on my scalp.Day 4 my entire scalp looked like I had cradle cap. I have had them braid my hair in the past with no problem. This time I’m not sure where they got the hair from and what was in the hair but the braids had to come out immediately! This was a really bad experience with a sore scalp a week after taking out the box braids

Critical: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueWORST PLACE EVER!!! Made an appointment for 3:30, didn’t leave until 8pm. I went there for a wash and a retwist. She barely washed my dreads. Then used sooo much gel in my hair to retwist it. Then I sat under the dryer for a hour just to look in the mirror and see my hair turned WHITE! Went to get a consultation bcs my hair was short for box braids. They told me yes i can do come in at 8am. Got there and it was packed. After 2 hrs a lady with an attitude started my hair and 2 braids in said my hair is too soft to braid. Then the owner told me not to worry that she would take care of me. After 1.5 hrs it was finally my turn and she told me she didn’t have hair to match me. I had brought my own but she insisted I used hers. I told her I did not want burgundy and I wanted blonde. She gave in used what I brought.Charged me $200 still for medium length. The parts were croocked the braids were all types skinny chunky long short. The whole time I was uncomfortable everyone was giving side eye and talking in another language pointing at me. 2 days later all my braids fell off during the day. Very unprofessional. If they couldn’t do my hair they could’ve just said no went i went in for the consultation. But i guess they wanted the $ and cared less about their business reputation.
