Always a pleasure every time I go to TayTamed That Beauty Lounge. It doesn’t matter who does my hair, it’s always professional, timely and filled with laughter. Any time my appointment needed to be adjusted I always receive a phone call, an apology and a willingness to accommodate my schedule for the inconvenience. My locs were started by another stylist, but I’ve been coming to Tay since my locs were 3 months and I have no complaints. Been with them for over a year now and I’m going to keep going until they put me out lol…….my locs are definitely flourishing under their care.

I absolutely love the entire team at TayTamedThat! These ladies are true artist at their craft and I have never left with that “I’ll go home and redo it myself” feeling that I used to have whenever leaving the salon. They go out of their way to ensure that the beauty lounge is warm, welcoming, and, fun for all of their clients. Tay has been doing my hair for almost two years and goes above and beyond every single time to make sure I walk out feeling beautiful. Most recently she did my hair for my bridal shower. I just asked her for a cute updo and she delivered more than I could have asked for or found with a picture from Instagram. I’ve ALWAYS GET complements and questions about who my stylist is since I started coming here. Shamya is an amazing addition to the team and did my hair for my vacation where I got proposed to. My curls lasted the entire trip and looked perfect on the last day of the trip when I got engaged. Sam has some my lashes several times and is always so sweet she takes her time to ensure that your lashes are exactly what you want and they last longer than anywhere else I have been. This is the dream team for real and I 100% recommend you try and get on their schedule for all of your beauty needs!

I wanted to love this business. However the lack of professionalism , last minute changes to services, and lengthy wait times is enough for me to warn others that this establishment is not it. My first time at the shop I waited over 4 hours to get my loc’s washed and had to wait an additional hour to get it styled( I was not a walk in). The second time my stylist was changed at the last minute without my consent. Also after reading other reviews appointments were canceled less than an hour before the appointment time (ridiculous). I wanted to support a black owned business run by black women but the vibes at this shop are horrible! Bad mouthing customers while you are in the chair getting your hair styled, FaceTiming your boyfriend while doing hair, cursing loudly, and yelling at their children. Please do not waste your time!! I gave this shop 2 stars because they are talented at doing hair but the customer service and the environment is not worth it.!!

Incredibly unprofessional. My daughter scheduled an appointment through StyleSeat for 2pm. The morning of the appointment she got a notification that her appointment had been moved to 12pm without any call nor text to her phone. She called Tay around 10am and she had the worst attitude and made it seem as if what she did made any sense. She eventually cancelled the appointment but never communicated an apology. I run a program for young Black women in the DMV and I wanted to see how my daughter’s experience with her would be so I could potentially partner with her and have some of my students get their hair done there. Very unfortunate.

I got my starter locs done by Tay and I couldn’t be happier. I started off getting them styled & I get so many compliments! The salon is beautiful, clean, and the entire salon is an experience. They are very knowledgeable and you feel at ease. Oprahdidit did my first loc maintenance and style and I really loved her too, amazing and always made sure I was comfortable. I highly recommend them both! I also love how punctual they are. No long waits and they respect your booking time.

Terrible customer service. If you’re looking for professionalism and consistency this shop is not it. My appointment has been cancelled twice 30-40 minutes before the scheduled appointment time, despite booking in advance. I tolerated the vulgar language and the canceling/changing of my appointments and stylist at the last minute without even given the decency of a courtesy phone call but, this is my last strike. Do not waste your time or gas on this place.
