I made a last minute updo braiding appointment with Tania and she exceeded my expectations. My appointment was at 1130 and she greeted me on time. When I told her what I was looking for she asked questions and made suggestions. Tania wanted to ensure that the services she provided met my needs. The braids were very detailed, aligned and care taken to ensure I was satisfied throughout the service. Tania is a very nice lady, her location and salon is very nice as well. But she straight lied on the phone when I inquired and asked her if she knew how to do an invisible part sew-in. Not only did she not know how to do an invisible part, she does not know how to do a sew in period. She did not complete the track from one side to the next, she inserted the needle directly into the weft itself. I told her I wanted to be able to pull the front of the hair back and not see weft not only did I see weft I saw the entire braid. I tipped her and told her it was ok I liked it because I did not want to embarrass her in front of others there in the salon as I am not that person, and she put in the time and effort, but the fact remains that she lied and that is not ok….

Quick, courteous and very reasonable. I’ve been using Tania almost a year now and I always leave satisfied. One time my braids were not what I wanted and she corrected my style no charge. Her attitude was great as she wanted me happy. I will continue to use her as my braid stylist. Her work is phenomenal!!!

First let me say she was prompt & accommodating to respond to my request for an appt. I do however have a couple of issues. The first being a business owner myself I have very high standards when it comes to customer service. My first issue is when I choose a style & a price is quoted then that is what I expect to pay. If pricing is going to vary according to length of hair or style then that should be communicated prior to the appt. My second issue is it very rude to tell a client/customer that you have to go work at a certain time & the style that they want will take too long. Then to repeat that statement several times is just rude. Then to suggest another style that is more expensive but less time consuming so that it benefits you & not the client is not good business practice. My suggestion would be don’t schedule appts or take clients on the days that you have to work another job. Being my first experience that left a sour taste in my mouth. Lastly to ask to be paid before the client has a chance to even get up out of the styling chair as if the client was going to run out without paying. That is probably the straw that broke the camels back. As much as I like my braids & they did turn out nice, when I spend my money I like to spend it with a business that is courteous & treats their customers as a priority. It is obvious that the main concern is a dollar & not pleasing the customer. I went back & forth on whether I would even leave this review because I honestly don’t like to shed any negative light on black business. However when you know better you do better. I would be doing a disservice if this type of behavior were to continue. Not to mention I would hate it if another new customer had the same experience & my silence was the cause of it.

When I find a stylist, I believe in sticking with that stylist and not hoping around. I’m thrilled that I have my main hair stylist and my main braid stylist. Tanya is absolutely amazing. She has been doing my hair for over a year. I am natural and decided to maintain styles that will keep y hands out of my hair. She has helped my hair frow so much since I’ve Ben coming to her. She takes her time but is also very steadfast with her braiding and pretty much can master any style. I can’t see myself going to anyone but her. Her prices are very reasonable and she makes sure to moistur each hair strain before applying the braid to your hair. She is the VERY BEST!!!!❤️❤️❤️
