By far, the best nail salon I have ever been to. I get VERY bad ingrown toenails and Grace took the absolute best care of me and my toes! Did an excellent job on waxing my eyebrows too! Definitely coming back!!

Critical: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueIf I could give NEGATIVE STARS I would. This place is an absolute disgrace. It is the most unsanitary nail salon I have ever been to. My mom and I went in for pedicures. The place is not kept well and didn’t look very nice. She didn’t get started on me for over 20 mins while I sat with my feet in cold water. She finished up with one lady and used the same gloves she used for her manicure to handle her money and then didn’t change gloves before starting on me. The chair I was in did not work and my legs were basically at right angles- super uncomfortable. The water was cold and when I asked if it could be warmed she rolled her eyes and used an old cut up milk jug to scoop the water out and pour into the tub of the chair next to mine (which was not cleaned after) I guess my chairs tub didn’t drain? They used the cheese grater looking things to scrape my heels, then she tapped it on the floor, rinsed it in my dirty water, and put it back in the drawer she took it out of. Same with all the other tools she used- unclean- used- rinsed in foot water- put back in the drawer. The nail/cuticle clippers and files are all covered in nail dust sitting in glass cups at the stations and again used-rinsed- put back in the cups. Nothing was pulled out of sanitation machine packaging. The file had been so used the sandpaper was tearing off. They clipped my inner big toenail which was very painful and now causing an ingrown nail. She also started cutting my first toenail without asking if I wanted them short or shaped- I asked her not to cut and just to file them and she sneakily kept cutting my nails with the cuticle clippers every time I looked away. She cut a few of them so short they were raw and bled later. She used some kind of harder bristle brush to scrub my feet on top and bottom- she scrubbed so hard it felt like she was breaking skin. She used her dirty gloved hand to reach into a jar and scoop out scrub to rub on my legs (hello contamination). There really was no massage- she poured some oil over my legs and rubbed it in. Aside from the sanitation issues and abrasive treatment- the paint job was horrid. Didn’t even brush the paint onto my toenails- literally used the brush to glob paint on (this was regular polish not dip or gel) and kept adding acetone to the bottle to thin out the polish. Didn’t wait any time before globing on the next layer and sloppily swiping topcoat across the top. My mom noticed a spot on her nail that was blotchy and asked her older lady nail tech to fix it and she argued that it was fine and wouldn’t redo that nail- another lady I presume the owner stepped in and fixed it. My mom wasn’t aware what all was happening at my chair and we had masks on so she couldn’t see my terrified facial expressions. My mom and I both poured rubbing alcohol over our feet when we got home to try to prevent fungus/infection. It’s been a day and I have some sort of rash or maybe abrasions from her scrubbing the tops of my feet so hard with that brush. I wanted to leave after every step of this process but don’t get pedicures with my mom often and didn’t want to ruin our experience together (my mom was also paying for me so I didn’t want to seem ungrateful). I will NEVER go back and STRONGLY DISCOURAGE anyone reading this to not go here either. I will be contacting the health department about investigating this place.Service: PedicureIf I could give NEGATIVE STARS I would. This place is an absolute disgrace. Positive: QualityGrace is amazing! I decided to stop going to #1 Nail because of a bad experience with a nail tech and I am so glad that I did. Meeting Grace was an amazing experience and she made me feel so comfortable and made me feel like she cared. After my first visit I booked for another two weeks Services: Nail art, Gel manicures, Pedicure, Manicure

Update: Grace is the BEST nail tech in Raleigh! I let her pick my design every time. Her pedicures will change your life! My big toe used to be crusty on the side and the nail was dark. Now ALL MY TOES look light and healthy. It only took 3 visits for them to look 100 % better. I go see her EVERY 3 WEEKS without fail. She is the best hands down! Let her do her own thing! You won’t be disappointed.

Positive: Quality, ValueI was able to walk in without an appointment when my go-to salon couldn’t fit me in. The massage chairs seem old and/or really inexpensive, so I just turned mine off rather than be bounced around; however, the technician was friendly and did a good job, which is most important. It’s definitely a no-frills establishment (lacking in ambiance, no beverage offered, no pedicure upgrades offered), but I’m pleased with the end result, and it was a good value–a little less than I usually spend actually. I think my nails look great, and I’d definitely go back.Services: Pedicure, ManicureI was able to walk in without an appointment when my go-to salon couldn’t fit me in. Critical: Professionalism, PunctualityCalled and asked if I could come in for a pedicure rather than just walk in. Was told to wait 10 minutes, and that I could come in. After waiting, I went inside and got to select my color. I was seated around 5:20 in a massage chair with a basin of scalding hot water. Luckily the water turned pretty cold (cooler than room temperature) in the 40+ minutes I sat and waited for anyone to acknowledge me. Service finally began a little while after 6 and was done by 6:40. The tech did a decent job, and the price was pretty good for a basic pedicure. I just don’t understand why I waited so long.I had wanted a full set of acrylics too, but after spending an hour and 20 minutes for a basic pedicure I was just about done.Service: PedicureCalled and asked if I could come in for a pedicure rather than just walk in.
