The owner (Debbie Franke) is very unprofessional, and doesn’t treat possible candidates very nicely. She’s very condescending in her emails, and overall isn’t a nice person to people, even the ones who work for her. I’ve definitely seen lots of improvement at this salon in the last couple of months! They are under new ownership and have new employees that are friendly and helpful. The salon itself looks cleaner and better cared for and has gotten two new beds in the last month! They are also working on getting a newer and better spray tan booth, so I’m looking forward to that with the winter months coming up. This location is constantly having new deals, and every time I come in I’m greeted with a smile and great customer service. I would definitely recommend Tan Republic Newberg if you’re looking for a great place to tan 🙂

Have had nothing but pleasant experiences since I switched over to Tan Republic. My wife and I go here on a regular basis and absolutely love the girls that work there, they are very friendly, knowledgeable and never pushy. The beds are always clean and the bulbs are always hot! I’m angry at myself because I forgot her name already, but this pretty blonde that helped me out was so incredibly helpful, thoroughly explained everything and she provided excellent customer service for my spray tan. $15 for a session cannot be beat, and I will be back several times this summer, and tell my friends to make the trek to Newberg and give you guys business! Ive been to other places where the employees just sit on their phones and couldnt care less about their customers. Not here! Tonight, however I was especially blown away. It’s not everyday you go to your tanning salon and someone impresses you with their consideration but Christie was awesome, and I hope that all the people that tan at this location have the chance to interact with her. The service is fairly good – most of the girls are friendly (one more so than the others). I appreciate that they don’t push products (like lotions). However, I have been disappointed recently. We went this past Sunday and the store was closed, even though we were there during published business hours, no notes on the door or window explaining why. We came home and called them and left a message explaining to them that we had just stopped by and found the store closed during their business hours and we wanted an extension of one day on our tanning packages because of this. No one ever called us back! We then went in to tan the next night and the bed they put me in had two bulbs that were burnt out. The girl told me that another company had just bought them out and they were expecting new bulbs any day (tanning is there business…I would think they keep a few spare bulbs around!). She offered me no restitution for this issue – so I asked if I could get a free upgrade. She gave one to me. The next night we went in again. The girl (a different one from the previous night) put me in room 3 – the same one I was in the night before that had the burnt out bulbs in it. I asked her if it still had the burnt out bulbs in it – she said she thought so, but wasn’t sure. I told her I did not want this bed, so she put me in a different bed. I was disappointed I had to ask. It appears they go by the policy ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ – so beware. My wife says she thinks the same bed that is in room three that is upstairs is not as good . Her and I were tanning at the same time (she even tanned longer than me)?and she didn’t get as dark as me – when we have done this before she always darkened up before me.
