Acupressure is a thousands-year-old form of massage therapy that involves applying pressure to certain points on the body to address ailments. According to traditional Chinese medicine, people have meridians or channels throughout the body. Qi, which is understood as a life-sustaining energy force, runs along those meridians. Qi can become stuck at some points along the meridians, and the goal of acupressure is to keep the energy flowing using pressure at specific points.

I have been going to this place near where I live after giving it a try. It has always been pretty good and that’s why I go there pretty often. All the therapists had their own pace and style and their techniques were always good. But then I got a specific male therapist. And I have had male therapist from them before with no problem. He was rough and rude. Everything started out fine but then it got more rough and I asked him to do it lighter. Then for some strange reason he decided to massage me sitting on the bed which made the bed shake. He kept changing which area to massage and rush through it, and then switch area again. He switch from my left side to right side at least 5 times. It made me really annoyed.

The prices are very appealing. However, you get what you pay for at Synergy, which is lower quality than you would get at a better spa. While I’ve had a few good massages here, I’ve had several bad ones (think elbows and forearms grinding against your spine), which left me feeling worse than when I walked in and convinced me to stop going here. Before committing, you might want to ask for the credentials of the masseuse. Your body will thank you.

Been going to this place for a long time and always been a good experience. Mr Lee is really good and another male therapist cant remember his name. However was there a day ago, specifically requested a male therapist (my preferente as a customer) somehow communication was not good with the reception person and a lady started helping me, when I asked that I had requested a male therapist I got attitude. The guy who did my massage was really good. At the end when I paid the same reception lady tells me next time ask if you need a male therapist as if it was my fault. I did and was even told to come back when a male therapist was available. Communication/understanding can be better!!

I was charged more than the posted price for a service in which I had to ask the service provider to ease off the pressure multiple times. He then followed me out to watch me pay as if I were going to run off or something. It was not a good experience and I will not be returning.

Good price and a good massage. Walked in appointment around 10am on a Friday. Got in right away. Applied plenty of pressure and hit multiple knotted muscle spots. Prefer payment in cash and tips of at least 18%.

Great experience, the staff are very nice. The price was very affordable, however the relief of pain reduced from very talented masseuses I ended up leaving a healthy tip! Highly suggest this establishment.

Positive: Professionalism, QualityI am so glad to find this place near Bethesda! Clean, professional, punctual, and the therapist is attentive, experienced, and listened to your body’s aches and pains. $60 for a one hour massage (I chose back only) that is more effective than some of the $250 ones at destination spas. For people not familiar with this style of massage, wear comfortable/loose clothing (which you will keep on). Now that I have discovered Synergy Health, I will come once a month if not more often.I am so glad to find this place near Bethesda! I’ve had a pinched nerve in my neck that’s been bothering me for days. I chose Synergy Health because it was close to home, and open on a Sunday. It’s located on the lower level, near Nordstrom, moved from over near Old Navy. There’s a front desk and waiting area, but no one was out there. Someone stepped out to greet me and told me there would be a short wait. I chose a 30 minute neck and shoulder massage. I was taken into the back where I was greeted with the strong smell of food, either just eaten, or microwaved. The massage was very good, and definitely worked out the kinks, but since the individual rooms are not completely walled off, you can hear everything coming from the other rooms, including the timers they use constantly going off. If you’re going for something therapeutic, you’re probably going to feel better, but I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re looking for a way to relax. My 30 minute massage was $35, plus I tipped $5.
