My hair is thick and VERY curly and I was not wanting to deal with it going in and out of the water. The man who greeted us took one look at my hair and said it was beyond his level of expertise, but someone would be in shortly who could help me. The woman who cut my hair, Duchess, took me on confidently and, with practically no direction from me, gave me a whole new hair style that is so cute and easy to care for. I am so grateful to the man for passing on cutting my hair and directing me to Duchess who ended up putting me on a whole new path with my cute shorter hair. I was in town for vacation and was desperate to lose some hair. My hair is thick and VERY curly and I was not wanting to deal with it going in and out of the water. The man who greeted us took one look at my hair and said it was beyond his level of expertise, but someone would be in shortly who could help me. The woman who cut my hair, Duchess, took me on confidently and, with practically no direction from me, gave me a whole new hair style that is so cute and easy to care for. I have been wanting to do a straightening service for years and after researching which one to try, I went with Keratin. Selina was very detail oriented in explaining the steps/phases I would be going through and even took the time to tell me about the product she uses (Olapex). Though it was a long process (approx. 6 hrs) her patience and dedication to ensure each phase was complete, reassured me that the end result would be ON POINT and what I was wanting. Knowing the process was long, Selina made it go by pretty fast with keeping the lines of communication open and making small talk. She made sure I was comfortable and always checked to see if I needed a break…she even took the time to get me a bottle water and offered me some snacks. The simplicity of the salon makes you feel relaxed yet professional. Selina took the time to ensure my experience and service I received was ‘Top Notch’. When I was done, she took the time to explain to me the after care as well as the DONT’S to do to your hair after getting it straightened. I considered getting a cut, however talking with her made me realize, it would be best to wait to allow my hair to ‘settle’ and see how it ‘falls’ or ‘lays’ so I get a better idea on the ‘cut’ i want since my hair is ‘Pin straight’. With a chemical service, i was skeptical, wondering if my hair would look damaged….Selina’s professional decision to use the Olapex product on my hair truly shows how knowledgeable she is with the services she provides. I left the salon with hair looking healthy and shiny. A customer even walked in as i was about to leave and commented, “Oh wow, that’s beautiful.” I am one satisfied customer who definitely recommends Synergy Hair Salon in Pahoa.I am not one who writes reviews but my experience and results was one worth doing. I will go back to Selina for my cut & style and continue this review of my Hair Journey.A Big Mahalo to Selina!
