David and Mary really dropped the ball in both the hair-trimming and customer-service departments.1. My wife and I needed to stop by Carter’s to pick up a baby gift. She had also mentioned she needed a hair trim and I recalled there being a Supercuts nearby. At 11:30am I used the Supercuts app to make her an appointment at 1:30pm that afternoon (I still have the screenshot saying “Check-In Confirmed”).2. My wife arrived at the store at 1:25pm only to be told there was no record of a reservation. David, the stylist, told her they must have “double-booked”. She’s instructed to wait for 20 minutes and she’ll be squeezed in. Due to COVID restrictions she understandably can’t wait in the store but the store also can’t dial out to call her out-of-state cell so she just has to wait in the car while watching the door for a sign it’s her turn.3. Though David was able to squeeze my wife’s trim in, it was quite the squeeze. My wife is NOT a complainer and gives folks very wide-latitude in such situations. But David literally (and roughly, according to her) spent 4 minutes trimming her hair, maybe 20 snips. He asked her if it looked okay and she pointed out the visible spots he had missed. She paid and left.4. Upon returning home, she realized there was much, much more of her hair he had somehow missed that hadn’t been visible to her when he had checked. A simple trim, perhaps 60% completed, generously.5. My wife made a complaint on Supercuts’ website requesting a refund. An accurate one. Nothing over the top. A few days later she received a call from Mary who apparently manages this store but is located at a different store. My wife answered the phone and in the background could distinctly hear a man shouting in the background “F*** her! F*** her. She’s lying. F*** her.” Really disturbing. Wonder who that could have been?6. Mary said before she could do anything she would have to take a look at my wife’s hair before anything could be done. She said she’s at the Menaul and Wyoming Supercuts on Mondays during the day and that my wife was welcome to come there. My wife is a nurse at UNMH and cannot take time out of her Monday to drive over and be inspected during the day. Apparently pictures were not sufficient. No other solution was offered by Mary.Because of the disturbing behavior of the “person” in the background of the call, I told my wife I’d be more comfortable escalating the issue to Supercuts corporate but have heard nothing yet and no follow-up from Mary.Again. Avoid this place. Support a local business, maybe pay a little more, but leave much happier.Service: HairstylingI know, I know. It’s a Supercuts. But still. Please avoid this place.
