I recently moved to the area from Southern California and was surprised at the lack of sugar salons in the area (since it’s so much better than waxing!) I made the drive to downtown Denver for appointments, and that place was also great, but it was a bit of a trek. So I was very glad to see Sugaring NYC open up just ten minutes from my house. I’ve now visited twice, and both times were pleasant experiences. Plentiful parking, very cute interior, and most importantly knowledgeable & skilled sugaristas. Karynne was excellent – highly recommend for your hair removal needs!

She also performed the service quickly, which is exactly what I like. I found sugaring to be less painful than waxing, and the recovery was immediate for me. I wanted to share a review while it’s fresh in my mind. I’ve done countless Brazilians with hard and soft wax. This is my first time with the sugaring method and I was extremely nervous because there aren’t many reviews of this method out there. Alexis was great in taking her time and going at the pace that was right for me. The only thing that hurt was when she was placing the wax on me and not ripping it off. The sugar method definitely seemed less painful than the hard/soft wax method. I am also pleased with my results. The only thing I wasn’t fond of is that I left with a sticky feeling and I’m not sure if this was normal with the sugar method.

I want to be as honest as possible and so I just want to start off with some of the positives! The owner is super nice, the facility is adorable and very clean! The tea station was nice because it was super cold out. I think that their prices are pretty comparable to other places I have gone for similar services. I won’t put all the details of my complaints here because the owner was so responsive and it sounds like she is going to address the situation. She was very understanding about the few concerns that I had and took responsibility/apologized many times for what happened. If I was going to rate this business as a whole, I would give it a strong 4. Request Fatima for your Brazilian!! I feel that because I was given a refund on my brow lamination, the owner was willing to listen to my concerns and the sugaring services I received from Fatima were great that a 4 is a fair overall rating. Would 100% book with Fatima again (I hope I am spelling her name right) If I was going to score my brow lamination/tint/sugaring services with Meg, I would rate that particular service/experience a 1 or 2. I would recommend requesting a different Sugarista for your brow services.

A uniquely enjoyable experience despite the circumstances. Meg was very professional and made my first sugaring experience quick, calm, friendly and surprisingly less painful than any waxing experience I’ve had. As a sensitive skinned person who struggled with waxing, I’m a sugaring convert for life. I left wanting to have my entire body sugared, I wanted that smooth silky seal feeling all over. I went to European Wax Center for years, but decided to try Sugaring NYC when it opened right by my house. I cannot express enough how much better of an experience sugaring is over waxing. Far less pain, better overall hair removal, less skin irritation, less in-growns, and I don’t know why, but the hair seems to be softer on regrowth so it’s less uncomfortable when you’re waiting for you next session. The staff at this location are super friendly and professional too. Trust me, toss your EW pass and just get sugared.
