Had the best experience at Sugar Coat and my manicure is flawless! The location in the new Carytown Exchange shopping center is super convenient with tons of parking. The salon is bright and clean and everyone there was friendly and professional. Emily did an amazing job on my nails (dip powder with gel design), she was so personable and easy to talk to. Really appreciated how she would check in throughout the manicure to make sure everything was exactly how I wanted it. I’m obsessed with my manicure, it’s perfect! The staff went out of their way to make sure I felt welcomed and comfortable, offering me soda/water and even a free shirt! Will definitely be back! Highly recommend this new salon 10/10

Wish I could give more stars!! The staff here is so friendly and helpful- Emily was my nail artist and she is so talented! The environment is fresh and clean and inviting, I’m so glad they’re finally open so I can walk here. Prices are fair with the quality of the service- cannot recommended enough. Emily basically read my mind and helped me get exactly what I wanted and made great suggestions! Definitely make an appointment- but they do take walk-ins.

This is the best nail salon I’ve ever been to! My nail tech is typically Emily but EVERYONE in the shop does great work! Very kind, friendly and they take their time! The shop is always so clean and the decor is always so cute during the holidays. There’s also a lot of parking out front and behind the shop! I HIGHLY recommend this shop and I’ll be a forever client!

This is the best nail salon in the RVA area hands down ! I had the pleasure of having Ashley slay my nails. She made my nails look exactly like the picture. My nails are flawless and I normally find something wrong with my nails , but not with her. The vibe is great and unlike most shops i’ve been to Ashley talked to me the entire time. I will definitely be coming back !

I went into sugarcoat a few weeks for a full set. I was intending to get acrylic nails with gel polish. The owner started doing my nails with I guess was colored acrylic power. I just assumed it was a new way of nails. Fast forward I go in today to get a fill to be told that if I wanted a French tip, I would have to take the nails off and get another full set. Colored acrylic power doesn’t just file off like most salons. I expressed how upset I was and that I was unaware that I would have to continue getting full acrylic color for every fill and the owner didn’t seem to care. They instead made me get a full color on my nails or I could pay the take off and the new set, plus the French tip and gel polish. When I was done I paid but told the owner they lost a customer and she seemed completely unfazed. I’ve lived in Richmond many years and have never had an experience like this at a nail salon. Let alone a brand new one. I paid 45 for a fill that I completely hate and you can see the old color under.

I absolutely love this new nail shop on Ellwood St. The staff are great and I haven’t been this happy about my nails in a long time! They are beautiful and I can’t wait to return when it’s time for another fill. The Jelly pedicure is also amazing, first time trying and I highly recommend. Emily also does eyebrows and my shape is perfect. Im so glad I’ve found a shop that takes their time and makes sure you leave with a smile ! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

The salon went out of their way to accommodate a large group reservation for myself and my bridesmaids the day before my wedding. They brought in extra technicians to make sure they could take care of our whole group, and they also let us bring in refreshments to make the day feel special. Everyone was super friendly and my dip manicure lasted throughout my two-week honeymoon, which included rock climbing. The location is super convenient with tons of parking. Highly recommend!

I’ve been a long time customer of Tina. I’ve never had a bad experience with her. I love the salon, it is always clean and tidy, and very welcoming. The staff is always friendly. Ashley does my pedicures and she is amazing! She helps me choose colors because I never know what color I want. I schedule appointments just so that I don’t have to wait. I highly recommend this salon and I do suggest scheduling an appointment if possible.
