The individual who washed my hair had long nails which I remember noticing as she massaged conditioner during my wash as they drug along my scalp. Moments later when the stylist was about to begin my haircut she uncovered an “open sore” on my scalp which was fresh and actively bleeding. Instead of discretion she proceeded to make a great ordeal of this – leading to many eyes turning my direction. In embarrassment I cowered. Was it my fault? How could this happen? I hadn’t felt any “open sores” the morning of my haircut as I washed my own hair and massaged curl cream into my roots. After some time left alone in the chair holding pressure on my head I was asked to leave with the advice “you should probably go see a doctor in case it’s infected”. When I got home and had a family member take a photo so I could see – it was unmistakable – the gouge mark of a nail on the crown of my scalp. As one who has absolutely no nails whatsoever it could not have been my own. Sugarhouse gaslight me, made a public embarrassment, and then charged me $85 for a haircut I didn’t receive. Upon calling and speaking to a manager they reconsider the charge. Tread with caution when booking with them.

This place was recommended as good but when I tried to make an appointment they “could not accommodate my service dog cause the massage room is to small”. Its rather scary to think of how small a massage room is that they cant accommodate a service dog.

Misty gave me the best massage I’ve ever had in my entire life this morning. I have never gotten massages on the regular because I never found the right fit for what I like. To say everything was perfect is an understatement – professional, on time, pressure was legit, and I was immediately in massage heaven. I am thankful to have been matched with her and am definitely going to be one of her regulars!

This was my first time at any spa and I really enjoyed it. We got a mani/pedi. The atmosphere was relaxed and our technicians were skilled. They had drinks available, warmed neck pillows that smelled amazing and a good selection of nail colors. It was a fun experience and I would recommend.

I have had the great fortune of finding Trish to do my hair. Trish is very knowledgeable on technique, listens to what you want and makes it happen with fantastic results! My hair has never been this healthy before. Highly recommend.

I absolutely love this spa. I have had several facials and massages here over the past two years. For my face, I typically go to Violet and get the Gycolic Facial, Oxygenating Facial, or Hydrafacial. No complaints from me, ever! They also sell Eminence and Obagi – two of the best skincare brands out there.

I made an appointment 3 weeks before Valentines Day to enjoy massages with my daughter. I specifically confirmed her age and that she could get a massage. They called to confirm a few days before. Then the morning of the appointments they called to say that she wasn’t old enough and couldn’t have the massage. They offered that she could wait in the lobby while I had mine!!! They were not sorry, they offered no real plan to make up for their unbelievable error. They ruined our special Valentines date! Appalling service, no sympathy, I would never go here again.

Today was my first visit to the salon and Denisse provided a fantastic service with a fresh cut for summer. Everyone I interacted with was professional and kind. Happy I found Sugar House and will be back to try more services in the future!

Critical: Communication, Professionalism, QualityThis place is not for mothers. I spent thousands of dollars coming here and the second I gave birth and finally was able to come back for a facial, I could only come with my (sleeping) son. I was EXTREMELY RUDELY informed that I couldn’t bring him upstairs. Mind you – they knew I had a baby and had even said they were excited to meet him. Not a single person told me ever that I couldn’t bring my son with me. What is a new mum supposed to do?I understand if I had been given a notice and then an exception just once and informed that next time I would not be able to come in, but the receptionist very rudely just said “Yeah he’s not going up there.” Where is he supposed to go? Also you helped me bring him in. Also you just went through the process of checking me in. Also you knew he was coming!!Zero respect for new mothers who took the time and made the effort to schlep down to the salon to do one single thing for myself for the first time since I got pregnant! And then shamed me for even thinking I could have my sleeping son nap during my 40 minute appointment.I called to discuss with the manager and she was equally rude and not sympathetic or apologetic for the rude service I had received. I will say I lost my temper I had left the spa and cursed on the phone but this was after even the manager was rude to me.This is a very expensive spa and they should have impeccable service. As for the services, only the facial is worth it. I’ve had my hair, nails, skin, and brows attended to, as has my mum. Only the facial and only with Josephine was good. The hair and nails is excessively overpriced and poorly done. My mums brows look very odd after coming here and having them waxed and dyed. This place is not for mothers. There is room for improvement in services hence my star rating. I’ll start with the constructive criticism first; the environment is loud (front desk staff/salon) talking carries upstairs to the spa area. My 50 minute massage was actually 40 minutes and she skipped my feet and head! I was shocked when she said it was over and didn’t feel comfortable calling her out on this… I was relaxed and didn’t notice until I came out 10 minutes before my friend who also got a massage at the same time so I had made note of the time before we started and when I ended. I was not given any paperwork for liability or health reasons before my massage – this is a big area for improvement on their part for liability. I realized I wasn’t asked if I was pregnant or had any medical conditions. Lastly, my pedicure looked very nice but the lady was very boss and almost made me feel like I was at the gyno by the way she was making me spread my legs to get the angles she wanted to paint.
